As a Hardware Operations Engineer on our team, you'll play a vital role behind the scenes — ensuring engineering teams have the right hardware in the right configurations at the right time to develop and validate the next generation of camera capabilities. You'll be the critical link between global supply partners and the engineers who depend on having the right devices to do their best work.

Description

This role coordinates hardware needs across global supply partners and internal teams, forecasting demand, identifying constraints, and driving resolution to unblock engineering workflows. The Hardware Operations Engineer collaborates closely with supply chain partners, hardware allocation teams, and camera engineering teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of hardware configurations, serving as the critical link between external manufacturing partners and internal engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Coordinates hardware requests end-to-end across global supply partners and internal engineering teams
Forecasts hardware demand and identifies constraints to proactively unblock engineering workflows
Manages priorities across competing hardware needs from multiple stakeholder teams
Tracks and drives resolution of hardware delivery issues, escalating blockers as needed
Collaborates with supply chain partners and hardware allocation teams to ensure timely delivery of device configurations
Communicates hardware status, timelines, and risks to camera engineering teams and leadership
Develops and maintains processes for hardware request intake, tracking, and fulfillment
Partners with cross-functional teams across multiple geographies to align on hardware planning and distribution

Minimum Qualifications

Familiarity with hardware lifecycle management, including procurement, lead times, configuration management, and distribution
Project or program management experience
Prior experience in a lab or hardware operations environment
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications

Deep understanding of Apple's device ecosystem and hardware configurations
Experience coordinating across global supply chain and internal operations teams
Experience tracking and managing hardware requests across multiple stakeholders
Strong communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail
Self-starter who can problem-solve quickly, juggle conflicting priorities, and escalate issues effectively
Experience with forecasting, capacity planning, and resource allocation
Ability and willingness to collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple geographies, both in person and virtually

Pay & Benefits — Cupertino, California, United States

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,500 and $311,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
