Description
In this role you will partner with cross-functional teams such as electrical, optical, embedded firmware, and software algorithm engineers to realize mechanical designs that integrate new technologies into systems for early-stage data collection. You will assist in setting technical requirements, design detailing, prototyping, fabrication, and the mechanical build process of low volume system manufacturing.
Responsibilities
Develop mechanical designs for systems utilizing 3D CAD, ensuring robustness and manufacturability
Create and evaluate proof-of-concepts, working with machine shops and vendors for fabrication
Support design validation planning and execution, including thermal analysis and reliability testing
Support assembly and integration for internal engineering builds or external contract manufacturer builds, including rapid failure analysis to mitigate issues and maintain project timelines
Collaborate cross-functionally to help define and refine design, testing, and validation requirements, aligning with user specifications and operational needs
Up to 20% domestic and international travel
Minimum Qualifications
Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals with good analytical skills and familiarity selecting materials and manufacturing processes based on engineering requirements
Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and generating 2D manufacturing drawings
Minimum requirement of a bachelors degree

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $129,300 and $225,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
