As a member of the Apple Silicon Technology group, you will collaborate in the design, creation, and enhancement of our data infrastructure, which underpins the productization of our semiconductors across iPhone, iPad, Mac, and numerous other devices. We are seeking a highly skilled Data Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data infrastructure and software systems. The ideal candidate will seamlessly bridge the gap between software engineering and data engineering, constructing robust data pipelines, analytics platforms, and data-driven applications that empower our organization to derive valuable insights from extensive datasets.

Description

Within the Productization Data Tools team, you will assume the responsibility for developing and maintaining the software systems that underpin our data operations. Your role will entail close collaboration with data scientists, analysts, and product teams to establish reliable, high performing, and scalable data solutions. Your responsibilities will encompass designing data architectures, optimizing data processing workflows, and ensuring data quality and governance throughout our systems.

Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable data pipelines and processing systems
Parse and process text logs and STDF
Develop and optimize database performance and query efficiency
Implement data quality monitoring and validation frameworks
Collaborate with data scientists to productize machine learning models
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot data infrastructure issues

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors Degree plus 3 years of relevant experience

(Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related)

Preferred Qualifications

Three or more years of experience in software development, with a specific focus on data systems
Proficiency in Python programming language
Experience with Oracle SQL and database design principles
Experience with Linux operating systems
Proficiency in version control systems (Git)
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Experience in semiconductor or high-tech research and development (R&D) and manufacturing environments
Master’s degree in computer science, data engineering, or a related field
5+ years of experience in data engineering or data-focused software development
Experience with Cassandra NoSQL database
Familiarity with machine learning workflows and machine learning operations (MLOps) practices
Experience with data visualization tools and business intelligence platforms

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $137,500 and $250,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
