Original job description

Content provided by the employer

Citi's Private Bank is looking for a Client Onboarding Analyst to manage end-to-end account opening and maintenance operations for high-value private banking clients across multiple regions. In this role, you will work at the intersection of client service, credit documentation, and regulatory compliance — collaborating with business, legal, AML, and compliance teams to deliver a seamless and controlled onboarding experience. Your work directly supports the integrity of Citi's client onboarding framework and contributes to ongoing transformation initiatives that strengthen operational controls at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end private bank client onboarding activities, including account opening, account maintenance, and credit-related documentation review, in line with internal guidelines and procedures.
  • Conduct structured reviews of client entity structures and coordinate account maintenance requests by facilitating workflows across teams in multiple regions.
  • Review credit documentation — including Guarantees, Charges, ISDA agreements, and related instruments — to ensure accuracy and compliance with required standards.
  • Engage directly with business, AML, compliance, and legal stakeholders to support client onboarding, guide process implementation, and provide subject matter expertise as needed.
  • Identify and close process gaps that affect data quality, establishing controls that ensure accurate and timely regulatory reporting.
  • Participate in UAT testing for system enhancements and support smooth production rollouts, contributing to the ongoing transformation of onboarding controls.
  • Contribute to data remediation exercises that improve system data quality and strengthen the accuracy of regulatory reporting outputs.
  • Assess risk considerations in day-to-day decisions, escalating control issues transparently and upholding compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 3 to 4 years of experience in private bank client onboarding operations, covering account opening, account maintenance, or credit documentation review.
  • Demonstrated ability to review and interpret credit documents, including Guarantees, Charges, and ISDA agreements, with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis; experience with Excel Macro or VBA is strongly preferred and considered essential for this role.
  • Clear and effective communicator, able to coordinate with internal and external partners across different regions and functions.
  • Able to manage multiple concurrent deliverables in a structured, high-volume environment while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
  • Able to meet business objectives without compromising on risk controls, and comfortable working under pressure to convert challenges into solutions.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English; available to work staggered hours, shifts, weekends, or public holidays as required by operational needs.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin is highly recommended, given the regional scope of the role and the client base served.
  • Prior exposure to AML, compliance, or legal onboarding frameworks within a private banking or wealth management environment.
  • Experience participating in system UAT cycles, process improvement projects, or strategic program rollouts within a financial services setting.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field such as finance, banking, or business administration.
