Within this organization, the Wealth Product and Portfolio Management (WPPM) team plays a pivotal role. WPPM is responsible for the ongoing management and oversight of credit portfolios, developing strategies to optimize risk and return, and ensuring our product offerings are aligned with the firm's risk appetite. Role Overview

This Senior Vice President role is a key position focused on revolutionizing our credit risk portfolio management capabilities through advancing key analytical skills, execution skills and development and integration of artificial intelligence (AI) tools. The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking leader with a strong track record of execution, who can pivot our traditional risk management practices towards a more dynamic, data-driven, and predictive approach.

You will lead strategic high impact  initiatives  across the Wealth Wholesale Product organisation (Wealth Risk), partnering with First Line businesses, Product, Finance, Technology, and Operations to deliver portfolio transformation, risk management enhancements, process improvements, and regulatory commitments.

You will also play active role in ongoing monitoring, analysis, and management of Wealth wholesale credit portfolios including, identifying portfolio trends and utilizing AI towards a data driven approach.

Core Responsibilities

  • Strategic Initiative Execution Across Credit: Drive and execute high-impact strategic initiatives across the Wealth Wholesale Product organisation, partnering with Credit Risk, Enterprise Risk, First Line businesses, Product, Finance, Technology, and Operations to deliver portfolio transformation, risk management enhancements, process improvements, and regulatory commitments.
  • Credit Portfolio Management & Optimization: Lead the ongoing monitoring, analysis, and management of Wealth credit portfolios, identifying portfolio trends, concentrations, emerging risks, and opportunities to optimize risk-adjusted returns while operating within approved risk appetite. Translate strategic objectives into actionable implementation plans with measurable outcomes.
  • Overdrafts and Deposits: Lead risk oversight of deposit and overdraft products, including the assessment and approval of new products and material product changes; leverage portfolio analytics, risk indicators, and trend analysis to identify emerging risks, establish risk thresholds, challenge business practices and controls, and drive timely escalation and remediation of material issues.
  • Strategic Analytics: Drive key strategic initiatives for the WPPM Head and Wealth CRO by leveraging data science and AI to deliver novel insights and end-to-end improvements across the credit lifecycle.
  • Actionable Insights: Translate complex data and analytical findings into actionable business strategies, procedural enhancements, and clear recommendations for senior management.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with key stakeholders, including technology teams, product managers, and regional risk counterparts, to ensure the effective and compliant implementation of AI-driven tools and execution of key strategic initiatives.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Develop and prepare comprehensive performance reports and dashboards that track the effectiveness of AI models and portfolio strategies, providing actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Risk Identification & Mitigation: Proactively use advanced analytical techniques to identify potential and emerging risks in the portfolio and develop innovative, effective mitigation strategies.
  • Change Leadership: Act as a change catalyst and an enthusiastic early adopter of new technologies. Take ownership for helping others understand the benefits of AI in risk management and maintain a positive outlook during the transition.
  • Firm Protection: Uphold the firm's reputation and safeguard its assets by ensuring all analytical processes and model applications comply with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.

  • Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to think strategically, connect analytical insights to business outcomes, and drive long-term initiatives.
  • Risk Management Principles: Comprehensive understanding of credit risk management principles, portfolio management, and financial markets.
  • Regulatory Landscape: Substantial knowledge of the regulatory and compliance landscape governing financial services and the use of models.
  • Credit Risk & Portfolio Management Expertise: Extensive experience in credit risk management, portfolio oversight, risk appetite management, concentration risk, stress testing, credit lifecycle management, and portfolio optimization, with a proven ability to lead strategic portfolio initiatives and provide effective challenge to business and risk stakeholders.
