Title: Strategic Planning & Corporate Development Lead
Location: 1 Washington Park, Newark, NJ 07102 and New York, NY

Duties: Build cohesive strategic plans to accomplish business objectives, identify specific areas of opportunity through quantitative and qualitative analysis, and formulate goals and milestones to achieve objectives. Own company’s long-range planning efforts and building capital allocation philosophies with our executive team. Partner with senior corporate development leadership on draft transaction recommendations. Draft recommendations using a combination of Excel, PowerPoint, and the PR/FAQ format based on input from content, product, marketing, finance, analytics, and technology leadership teams. Lead inorganic growth efforts by partnering with finance, legal, corporate development, and company executives. Serve as strategic advisor for senior leadership across the organization on build/buy/partner opportunities. Drive cross functional initiatives, leading by influence, and without direct authority. Actively provide an “outside-in” perspective and recommend strategic priorities based on competitive and consumer intelligence. Guide and lead the executive team designing the annual operating plan. Partial telecommuting permitted; employees will be required to report to office a maximum of three (3) days per week.

Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Government, Business Administration, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field plus six (6) years of experience as a Director for Strategic Transactions, or a related occupation involving experience in digital media, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, management consulting, or a related field. Experience may be gained concurrently and must include:

Five (5) years in each of the following:
- Using quantitative data and metrics to communicate ideas
- Applying direct transactional modeling and analysis experience, including due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, or complex multinational business development deals
- Working in the digital media content landscape, both as a strategic and financial buyer or investor
- Tracking, prioritizing, and driving multiple concurrent projects to success.

Three (3) years in each of the following:
- Transactional leadership experience working directly with the C-suite on a regular basis
- Producing documents and presentations, including board presentations, long-term plans, and business cases using Microsoft Office for leadership/C-suite executives’ review
- Working in a client-facing environment under tight timelines in a consultative capacity, as a senior associate, manager, vice president, or team-level contributor at a top tier law firm, investment firm, or consulting organization.

One (1) year in the following:
- Leading large, complex, cross-functional teams on ambiguous projects
- Leading long-range planning efforts or facilitating investment tradeoffs with executive leadership.

Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree and five (5) years of experience.

Salary: $179,088 - $220,100 /year.
