Original job description

Content provided by the employer

We are seeking a Compliance Specialist to join our Global Public Sector Legal Compliance team. In this role, you will support the attorneys on our team who advise on compliance matters related to Amazon's public sector business worldwide, including government contracting, procurement regulations, post-government employment, political law, gift compliance, and organizational conflicts of interest across multiple jurisdictions.

Key job responsibilities
As a Compliance Specialist on the Global Public Sector Legal Compliance team, you will provide day-to-day compliance support to the attorneys advising on Amazon's public sector business worldwide. You will draft and maintain SOPs and internal guidance, and manage compliance documentation and reporting. Your responsibilities include supporting compliance program operations across government contracting, post-government employment, political law, gift compliance, and organizational conflicts of interest. You will partner with business teams to implement compliance requirements, develop training and communications, and project manage portions of company-wide compliance initiatives. You will also perform gap analyses, track program metrics, and escalate legal issues to senior team members as appropriate.

A day in the life
You'll start the day reviewing open compliance questions from business partners and coordinating with attorneys on time-sensitive matters. You'll draft or update SOPs and internal guidance, prepare reporting for leadership, and respond to business inquiries on compliance topics ranging from gift disclosures to government contracting requirements. Throughout the day, you'll balance project management responsibilities — tracking deadlines, updating documentation, and advancing compliance program workstreams — with substantive research and drafting tasks. You'll collaborate closely with attorneys and cross-functional stakeholders, adapting quickly as priorities shift in a fast-paced, global environment.
