Job Description

The mission

Service Innovation is shaping the future of Digital Services by turning microscope data, domain expertise and data science into actionable service intelligence.

At the heart of our Digital Services solution are predictive and proactive algorithms that detect potential issues, trigger early warnings and help customers and field service engineers prevent service disruptions. The Algorithms capability is a key part of enabling smarter diagnostics, improved uptime and more effective service support.

We are looking for a Senior Product Owner who wants to help build and scale this capability inside a global technology company. This is not a classical corporate Product Owner role. We work as a smaller, hands-on, flexible and ownership-driven team within a larger organization. We value speed, pragmatic decisions, strong collaboration and real business impact.

Role purpose

As Senior Product Owner – Digital Services, you will drive the end-to-end value delivery of digital service capabilities, with a strong focus on algorithms, predictive service intelligence and service effectiveness.

You will translate customer, service and technical needs into clear product direction. You will work close to technology, shape priorities and make decisions that turn microscope data into valuable digital services.

Key responsibilities

·       Own end-to-end product delivery from need definition to release, adoption and field feedback.

·       Shape and prioritize digital service capabilities based on impact, feasibility and strategic fit.

·       Translate microscope data, domain knowledge and service insights into predictive algorithms, alerts and service solutions.

·       Work closely with SMEs, R&D, Service, Marketing, Customer Success Managers, Remote Service Engineers, architects and development teams.

·       Use field feedback, performance data and business cases to guide decisions and verify value.

·       Improve development efficiency and time to market through modern tooling and effective ways of working.

·       Drive quality, robustness, maintainability and adoption of digital service capabilities.

Candidate profile

We are explicitly looking for someone with knowledge of microscopy and a strong network in R&D, or the ability to build this quickly.

More important than exact previous job titles is the right combination of mindset, attitude, behaviours and skills. We are looking for someone with a builder mindset: someone who enjoys shaping something new, working close to technology, connecting experts and making clear product decisions.

The ideal candidate:

·       Thinks end to end, beyond individual features or team boundaries.

·       Has a strong focus on business value, customer value and real service impact.

·       Shows ownership, accountability and initiative.

·       Has a builder mindset and enjoys shaping something new close to technology.

·       Can create and communicate a clear product vision and make pragmatic decisions.

·       Connects strategy, roadmap, technical feasibility and operational adoption.

·       Builds trust and influence across SMEs, developers, R&D, Service and Marketing.

Required skills and experience

·       Technical background, preferably in engineering, physics, microscopy, software, data or a related field.

·       Knowledge of microscopy or strong affinity with high-tech instruments.

·       Good understanding of R&D environments and stakeholder dynamics.

·       Experience in product ownership, product management or technical leadership.

·       Affinity with software development, algorithms, data, digital services or platforms.

·       Strong communication and influencing skills.

·       Professional English, written and spoken.

Preferred experience

·       Experience defining value metrics, business cases or benefit tracking.

·       Experience with Agile/Scrum or SAFe, applied pragmatically.

What success looks like

·       Clear end-to-end ownership of Digital Services capabilities from idea to adoption.

·       New and improved Digital Services are delivered with verified business value and customer value.

·       Priorities are visibly driven by impact, feasibility and service effectiveness.

·       Development efficiency and time to market improve through modern tooling and effective processes.
