About the Opportunity
We are looking for a Quality Engineer – Supplier Quality who enjoys solving problems, working collaboratively and turning quality challenges into lasting improvements.
Based at our Adelaide site, you’ll have the opportunity to work across supplier quality, engineering and manufacturing. You’ll partner with suppliers and internal teams to improve component and product quality, investigate technical issues, reduce risk and strengthen the processes behind our products.
This is an opportunity to combine hands-on quality engineering with supplier engagement, data-driven problem solving and continuous improvement in a global scientific technology organisation. Whether your background is in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, quality engineering or a related engineering discipline, this role offers an opportunity to broaden your experience within a global scientific technology organization.
What You’ll Do
Build strong supplier partnerships and work collaboratively to improve quality, capability and performance.
Lead and support supplier qualification, onboarding, audits and ongoing performance management.
Investigate supplier and product quality issues and turn root causes into effective, sustainable solutions.
Lead or support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and ensure improvements deliver the intended results.
Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Operations and Quality to solve technical challenges and prevent recurring issues.
Use supplier and quality data to identify trends, emerging risks and opportunities for improvement.
Lead and contribute to continuous improvement projects focused on reducing defects, variation and quality risk.
Apply practical quality tools such as FMEA, 8D and root-cause analysis.
Support new product introductions and engineering changes, bringing a quality and supplier perspective into decisions early.
Develop meaningful supplier quality measures and help teams translate data into action.
Support supplier quality agreements, specifications and quality documentation.
Contribute to the ongoing effectiveness of our Quality Management System and applicable regulatory requirements.
Share your knowledge and help strengthen a culture where quality, continuous improvement and customer outcomes are everyone’s responsibility.
Keys to Success
You’ll bring sound technical acumen, an analytical mindset and a collaborative approach to finding practical solutions that make a real impact.
Education
A qualification in a relevant technical discipline such as Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent relevant industry experience would be advantageous.
Experience
Relevant experience in quality engineering, supplier quality, manufacturing quality, process engineering or a related technical quality role.
Demonstrated experience investigating technical or quality issues and implementing sustainable corrective actions.
Experience working with suppliers and/or cross functional engineering, manufacturing and procurement teams.
Experience with supplier auditing, CAPA, new product introduction or continuous improvement is highly regarded.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to interpret technical information, specifications, drawings, quality data and supplier performance information.
Understanding of quality engineering principles, risk management and structured problem solving.
Knowledge of quality tools and methodologies such as FMEA, 8D, root-cause analysis is advantageous.
Strong analytical skills and confidence using data to identify trends, assess risk and support decisions.
Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work constructively with suppliers and stakeholders at different levels.
Audit experience or certification is desirable but not essential.
Knowledge of metal fabrication and coating processes would be advantageous
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
This is primarily a site-based role to support supplier audits, supplier quality management and quality activities.
