Senior Programmer Analyst

Join Us as a Senior Programmer Analyst – Make an Impact at the Forefront of Innovation

The Senior Programmer Analyst performs advanced bioinformatics programming activities supporting the statistical and computational aspects of clinical research projects.

Additionally, the Senior Programmer Analyst:

  • Works independently as a Lead Programmer on moderately complex studies.
  • Serves as a study team member under the direction of a Lead Programmer on more complex studies.
  • Provides training, guidance, and mentoring to junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

Programming & Bioinformatics Activities

  • Independently create, execute, maintain, and validate programs that:
    • Transfer data across multiple data management systems or operating systems.
    • Combine data from a variety of sources and structures.
    • Generate and store summary data from multiple sources.
    • Generate reports or combine multiple databases.
    • Validate programs that generate listings, tables, and figures using SAS.

Study Leadership & Project Management

  • Act as the Lead Programmer on selected studies of moderate complexity.
  • Collaborate directly with project team leaders and client representatives.
  • Assess and develop project goals and timelines.
  • Assume leadership responsibilities as a contributing member of multidisciplinary clinical trial project teams.
  • Communicate proactively with cross-functional team members to ensure project success.

Assignment & Quality Management

  • Manage and document assignments to meet project timelines and quality expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant contractual obligations and project requirements.
  • Perform quality control reviews of statistical programming deliverables.

Training & Development

  • Continuously enhance expertise in programming technologies, clinical trials, and the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Train, mentor, and guide junior programmers.
  • Support knowledge sharing within the team.

Departmental & Strategic Support

  • Support departmental initiatives and infrastructure by:
    • Representing the company at industry conferences.
    • Presenting at internal department meetings.
    • Assisting in the development of training materials.
    • Contributing to departmental documents, policies, SOPs, and working practice documents.
    • Supporting proposal and bid activities as requested.

Education & Experience Requirements

Required Qualifications

Master's Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, or a related field with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience

OR

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, or a related field (or an equivalent relevant academic/vocational qualification) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

Relevant experience should demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform advanced statistical programming, bioinformatics programming, and clinical trial support responsibilities. Years of experience should be considered alongside technical expertise, leadership capability, and overall proficiency, rather than as the sole selection criterion.
