Overview

The Azure Supercomputing and AI Infrastructure Products (ASAP) organization is responsible for delivering the infrastructure foundation powering the next generation of artificial intelligence.

We are looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager to drive technical execution and engineering excellence across Microsoft's rapidly growing AI infrastructure portfolio, including strategic NeoCloud partnerships and large-scale GPU deployments. This role sits at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, engineering execution, AI-driven automation, and operational innovation. You will work across provider buildout, engineering readiness, validation, and Dock-to-Live (D2L) activities to help transform contracted capacity into customer-ready Azure capacity.

This candidate will combine deep technical curiosity with systems thinking and execution rigor. They thrive in ambiguity, challenge conventional approaches, identify opportunities for transformation, and drive measurable business impact through technical leadership and scalable engineering solutions. In addition to supporting infrastructure delivery at scale, this role will help shape the next generation of intelligent buildout systems by applying data, automation, AI, and agentic workflows to improve predictability, reduce manual effort, and accelerate delivery outcomes. This role will serve as a technical thought leader for the organization, helping define how Microsoft scales engineering execution across rapidly growing NeoCloud capacity while continuously improving the systems, processes, and tooling used to deliver customer-ready infrastructure.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

Responsibilities
  • Drive technical execution across the infrastructure delivery lifecycle, including engineering readiness, validation, Dock-to-Live (D2L), and customer onboarding readiness. Drive data-driven decision making through the development of telemetry, metrics, scorecards, operational intelligence systems, and engineering dashboards.
  • Partner closely with engineering teams to improve the predictability, quality, and scalability of Azure infrastructure deployment processes. Partner with provider program managers and engineering stakeholders to identify technical bottlenecks, drive issue resolution, and accelerate customer-ready capacity delivery. Partner with engineering teams to define and deliver intelligent systems that automate repetitive work, improve decision making, reduce operational toil, and increase execution velocity.
  • Develop deep expertise in Microsoft's AI infrastructure delivery systems and identify opportunities to improve engineering execution across providers, regions, and deployment programs.
  • Design and implement technical mechanisms, operational tooling, and automation solutions that improve delivery visibility, execution quality, and engineering productivity.
  • Identify opportunities to apply AI, automation, and agentic workflows to infrastructure delivery processes.
  • Develop scalable approaches to D2L planning, engineering readiness reviews, risk identification, and execution governance.
  • Challenge existing assumptions and workflows, using data and engineering insights to improve how infrastructure is planned, built, validated, and delivered.
  • Lead technical investigations into recurring execution challenges and develop durable solutions that improve future deployments.
  • Communicate complex technical issues, risks, and recommendations clearly to engineering leaders and executive stakeholders.
  • Act as a technical force multiplier by identifying opportunities others miss and driving repeatable solutions that improve outcomes across the broader organization.
