The Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) Data Engineering team is looking for a System Development Engineer who will join the team supporting the infrastructure, tooling, and automation for data pipelines powering fulfillment operations analytics.

Your problem resolving skills will benefit customers directly, ensuring Amazon's data infrastructure stays reliable and performant. Primary responsibilities include troubleshooting, diagnosing and fixing production data pipeline issues, developing and enhancing monitoring solutions, performing software maintenance and configuration, implementing fixes for internally developed code (Perl, Ruby, Python), SQL queries, updating, tracking and resolving technical challenges, and building tools that automate daily operational activities. Responsibilities also include working alongside the data engineering team on pipeline infrastructure projects, updating and enhancing our current systems, automation of support processes, and documentation of our platforms.

Your solutions will impact our customers directly! This job requires you to constantly hit the ground running and your ability to learn quickly and work on disparate and overlapping tasks will define your success. High impact production issues often require coordination between multiple data engineering, platform, and upstream provider teams, so you get to experience a breadth of impact across various groups.

The ideal candidate must be detail oriented, have superior verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, able to juggle multiple tasks at once, able to work independently and can maintain professionalism under pressure. You must be able to identify problems before they happen and implement solutions that detect and prevent outages. You must be able to accurately prioritize projects, make sound judgments, work to improve the customer experience, and get the right things done.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
