Original job description

Content provided by the employer

About the Team

AWS Global Energy is responsible for powering the world's most demanding cloud infrastructure. The team is organized across three verticals: Global Energy Strategy (GES), which leads the development of innovative commercial structures to meet capacity demand and AWS's carbon-free energy commitments; Power Generation Solutions (PGS), the single-threaded owner for AWS power generation and energy engineering — delivering capacity solutions aligned with AWS's availability, reliability, sustainability, and redundancy requirements and managing the production readiness lifecycle of AWS-owned or commissioned generation and storage assets; and Energy Portfolio Operations (EPO), which owns Amazon's global renewable PPA portfolio and AWS CFE supply agreements. Global Energy partners closely with regional data center planning and delivery, global sustainability, and broader Amazon business units on energy procurement and infrastructure needs.

About the Role

As a Senior Technical Program Manager on the PGS leadership team, you will report directly to the Head of Power Generation Solutions and serve as a strategic partner to PGS and Global Energy leadership. This is a dual-scope role: you will own technical program management for one of PGS's power programs, while also driving cross-cutting strategy, controllership, and operational mechanisms for PGS and the broader Global Energy organization.

You will work at the intersection of technical execution and business strategy, partnering with PGS engineering leads, Global Energy Principals, Energy Portfolio Operations, Finance, and senior AWS leadership to ensure our programs are on track, our organization is scaled appropriately, and our strategy is clear and actionable. You'll engage external partners, facilitate senior executive interactions, and serve as a trusted voice for PGS in cross-organizational forums.

This role is right for someone who thrives in ambiguity, thinks big, and can operate with equal fluency in a technical design review and a VP-level strategy session.

About You

You have a track record of delivering complex, ambiguous programs at scale — and doing it with the business acumen and executive presence to bring senior leaders along. You are data-driven but not data-bound; you know when to go deep and when to synthesize. You write clearly, speak directly, and earn trust quickly across organizational boundaries.

You are energized by consequential work. AWS's power strategy is shaping how the world's infrastructure gets built — and this role sits at the center of it.

Basic Qualifications
Experience in technical program management, strategy, or related fields in a large-scale infrastructure, energy, or technology organization
Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder programs with senior leadership visibility
Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to translate data into strategic recommendations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience preparing materials for VP-level audiences
