Accenture Song | Media | Melbourne

The Opportunity

At Accenture Song, we believe the future belongs to those who reinvent it.

We bring together creativity, data and technology to reimagine how media can deliver growth, effectiveness and innovation for our clients.

We’re looking for an experienced Account Director to take a leading role in one of our major client partnerships. You’ll be the senior day-to-day client lead, bringing together strategy, planning, investment, activation, performance and data to ensure great thinking translates into exceptional delivery.

This is more than a relationship-management role. You’ll need strong media judgement, commercial awareness and the confidence to have a point of view. You’ll move comfortably between senior client conversations, media planning, live campaign challenges, team leadership and account commercials.

What You’ll Do

Lead the Client Relationship

  • Own the senior day-to-day client relationship, building trust through strong advice, reliable delivery and a deep understanding of the client’s business.
  • Get underneath the brief, understanding the business challenge, audience, category and commercial context before translating it into a clear media challenge.
  • Lead client presentations, planning sessions, campaign reviews and senior stakeholder conversations.
  • Act as a trusted media partner who can simplify complexity, challenge constructively and provide a clear recommendation.

Connect Strategy to Execution

  • Lead the overall media response, connecting strategy, planning, investment, activation, performance, data and specialist capabilities around a clear direction.
  • Apply strong media judgement across channels, knowing what great work looks like and challenging teams when needed.
  • Ensure strategy carries through into planning, investment and activation.
  • Turn reporting into a point of view, helping clients understand what happened, why it matters, what was learned and what should happen next.
  • Stay close to campaign delivery and act early when timelines, budgets, workstreams or relationships begin to move off track.

Drive Account Excellence

  • Establish clear ways of working across client and agency teams, ensuring responsibilities, decisions, deadlines and escalation paths are understood.
  • Maintain commercial discipline across scope, fees, resourcing and forecasts.
  • Identify potential scope creep early and work with the appropriate stakeholders to manage it.
  • Identify opportunities to bring additional Accenture Song capabilities into the client relationship where they can solve unmet needs or create greater value.

Lead & Develop the Team

  • Provide clear direction across multidisciplinary teams and competing priorities.
  • Coach and develop team members, creating opportunities for people to build capability and take greater ownership.
  • Create an environment of accountability, collaboration and high-quality delivery.
  • Bring together specialists from across media, performance, data, technology and strategy to deliver connected client outcomes.

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong experience within a media agency environment across account leadership, communications planning or integrated media.
  • Experience leading complex client accounts and managing senior client relationships.
  • A strong understanding of how strategy, planning, investment, activation, performance and measurement work together across digital and offline media.
  • The confidence to advise and constructively challenge senior stakeholders.
  • The ability to turn complex or ambiguous business challenges into clear media problems and actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent presentation and storytelling skills.
  • Strong commercial capability, including experience managing scope, fees, resourcing and delivery.
  • The ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and create clarity across multiple priorities.
  • Experience coaching and developing media talent.
  • Curiosity, accountability and a genuine desire to make both the work and the team better.

What Success Looks Like

Success means becoming a trusted partner to the client, someone whose judgement is valued beyond the day-to-day management of the account.

The team has clarity and the space to produce its best work. Strategy connects through to execution. Challenges are addressed early. Commercial fundamentals remain under control.

Most importantly, you’re helping the client make better media decisions and keeping the broader team focused on work that genuinely improves marketing outcomes.

Why Accenture Song?

At Accenture Song, we’re not just buying media. We’re reinventing how media works.

You’ll be part of a team bringing together media, creativity, data, technology and intelligence to solve complex client challenges and create new opportunities for growth.

You’ll have the opportunity to influence significant client relationships, lead multidisciplinary teams and help shape a modern approach to media built around connected thinking, technology and measurable outcomes.

Because the future of media won’t simply be traded.

It will be reinvented.
