The AuNZPI (Australia, New Zealand & Pacific Islands) Strategy and Transformation team plays a key role in shaping and delivering the cluster’s growth agenda across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. Working closely with market leaders and cross-functional teams, the team drives strategic planning, transformation and operational improvement to strengthen decision-making, execution and business outcomes.
Visa has a pool of funds dedicated to enabling strategic initiatives across the payments ecosystem. The Strategic Funds Senior Manager will help AuNZPI plan, govern and track the effective deployment of these funds across a portfolio of initiatives.
This is a high‑visibility role working across Sales, Finance, Strategy and Product, suited to someone who combines strong operational discipline with commercial judgement and data‑driven thinking.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic investment governance and deployment
- Lead annual planning and pipeline development for deployment of strategic funds for AuNZPI, partnering with market and functional stakeholders to identify priority initiatives, build a robust investment pipeline and align plans with budget timelines, market priorities and regional objectives.
- Manage governance and approvals by assessing initiative eligibility against agreed principles and guardrails, and preparing recommendations for relevant forums.
- Monitor utilisation, delivery progress, risks and outcomes through clear reporting and governance routines.
- Drive disciplined execution by monitoring funding utilisation against approved plans, delivery timelines, expiry dates and key milestones, and re-prioritising or escalating where needed.
- Coordinate stakeholder engagement across local markets, the Singapore Hub and key functional partners, escalating structural issues, policy matters, delivery risks and exceptions as needed.
Performance insight & reporting
- Develop and maintain dashboards to track funding utilisation, initiative outcomes and commercial impact, relying on automation where possible
- Streamline governance, monitoring and reporting processes through the use of AI and automation.
- Provide portfolio and deal insights to support prioritisation and governance
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Essential
- Experience in strategy, business operations, finance, financial planning, program management or a similar role, with the ability to turn strategic priorities into clear plans and deliverables.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret financial and operational data, identify emerging risks early, and translate insights into practical actions and recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage governance, approvals, controls and reporting in a complex, matrixed environment, with exceptional attention to detail, strong process discipline and sound judgement.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across Sales, Finance, Product and other cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and drive execution in a fast-paced environment, with a proactive, organised approach and strong follow-through.
Desirable
- Familiarity with common accounting principles
- Experience in financial services, payments or technology-led commercial environments.
- Experience working in regional or matrixed organisations.
- Experience working with global reporting frameworks and adapting them to local market needs.
