About the Role

The Senior Director, Government & Strategic Partnerships, will lead VCA’s public sector growth agenda across India and South Asia. This role will be responsible for establishing and scaling a market-leading Government & Public Sector Advisory practice focused on government institutions and public sector enterprises.

The successful candidate will build strategic relationships with client stakeholders, originate and lead high-impact consulting engagements, shape VCA’s public sector value proposition, and drive sustainable revenue growth through government, PSU, and ecosystem-led opportunities. The role will also be responsible for developing VCA capabilities, talent, thought leadership, and strategic partnerships that position Visa as a trusted advisor for digital transformation and economic modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

•  Define and execute VCA’s Government & PSU Strategy across India and South Asia, from identifying opportunities to delivering projects.

•  Originate, pursue, and convert high-impact consulting and transformation engagements across government institutions, public sector enterprises, and ecosystem stakeholders.

•  Develop and execute go-to-market strategies in partnership with Sales, Product, Marketing Services, Government Engagement, and Account Executives to accelerate growth.

•  Lead strategic pursuits, executive client engagements, and commercial negotiations to drive client acquisition and revenue expansion.

•  Provide pipeline oversight, forecasting, and governance to ensure accurate opportunity management and business planning.

•  Build compelling business cases, value propositions, and ROI-led narratives for clients and stakeholders.

•  Develop repeatable consulting frameworks, methodologies, and scalable offerings that can be deployed across multiple government and ecosystem engagements.

•  Mentor and develop high-performing talent, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

•  Develop strategic insights and thought leadership to help governments, public institutions, and ecosystem stakeholders navigate the evolving payments and digital transformation landscape.

•  Manage a significant consulting portfolio and be accountable for revenue growth, pipeline conversion, client satisfaction, and overall practice performance.

•  Hold self and team members accountable for delivering measurable, high-quality, timely, and impactful business results.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

•  Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Public Policy, Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline.

•  15+ years of experience in management consulting, government advisory, public sector strategy, financial services, technology consulting, risk consulting or digital transformation.

•  Demonstrated success building and managing senior stakeholder relationships across government institutions, regulators, public sector enterprises, and large organizations.

•  Experience leading large, complex, multi-stakeholder transformation programs.

•  Proven track record of business development, client management, and revenue generation.

Preferred Qualifications

•

•  Previous experience with a leading consulting firm, public sector advisory practice, technology consulting organization, or financial services institution.

•  Strong understanding of government modernization, Digital Public Infrastructure, financial inclusion, and public-sector transformation.

•  Experience defining and executing go-to-market strategies and commercial growth plans.

•  Financial acumen with experience managing a P&L or significant consulting portfolio.

•  Strong commercial mindset with experience building business cases and demonstrating client ROI.

•  Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities with strong strategic thinking skills.

•  Excellent executive presence, communication, storytelling, and presentation skills.

• Proven leadership in highly matrixed organizations with strong collaboration and stakeholder management capabilities.

•  Experience building, mentoring, and leading high-performing consulting teams.

•  Demonstrated commitment to delivering measurable business outcomes with accountability for results.

Ideal Candidate Profile

A senior consulting leader with deep expertise in government engagement, public sector advisory, payments, or digital transformation, who can serve as a strategist, business builder, trusted advisor, and people leader.
