Senior Backend Test Automation Engineer

• Design and execute API, backend, integration, and regression tests to ensure high-quality software delivery.
• Develop and maintain automated tests and contribute to the enhancement of automation frameworks using Playwright, Karate, and BDD practices.
• Analyze test failures, identify defects, and support root-cause analysis to drive quality improvements.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless testing within the delivery lifecycle.
• Continuously contribute to QA processes, test management, defect traceability, and continuous improvement initiatives while supporting and mentoring junior QA engineers.

HERE'S WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

• Expert proficiency in API and Backend Testing.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in test automation and quality engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright, Karate, and Cucumber/BDD frameworks.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP protocols, and system integrations.
• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of studies.

BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:

• Expert proficiency in System Defect Management and Root Cause Analysis.
• Expert proficiency in Technical Test Execution and Test Automation Frameworks.
• Advanced proficiency in Test Planning and Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
• Intermediate proficiency in Jira/Xray, Confluence, and test traceability management.
• Beginner proficiency in Continuous Integration using Jenkins, Bitbucket/Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with SQL/database testing, microservices, distributed systems, Docker, cloud environments, and programming languages such as Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python.
