SW Developer with Functional Safety Expertise

THE WORK

• Develop safety-relevant low-level software for SoC-based automotive platforms within a structured ISO 26262 software development process.
• Implement and review software components including bootloaders, hypervisor integration layers, and OS/BSP-level functionality.
• Implement and verify safety mechanisms defined by the safety architecture, including MPU configuration, error handling, watchdog management, and related platform safety features.
• Maintain traceability between requirements, implementation, verification activities, and test artifacts.
• Contribute to software unit design, interface documentation, and code reviews with a focus on functional safety, freedom from interference, and MISRA compliance.

Flexible: The work location for this role may include a mix of working remotely, onsite at a client or in an Accenture office, depending on specific project circumstances. With all our roles, there is some in-person time for collaboration, learning and building relationships with clients, peers, leaders, and communities. HERE'S WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• Minimum 4 years of experience in embedded or low-level software development.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++.
• Hands-on experience developing software for embedded systems, including bare-metal, RTOS, or hypervisor-based environments.
• Familiarity with ISO 26262 software development requirements and the ability to work effectively within a safety-compliant development process.
• Experience working with SoC-based platforms and low-level software components.
• Communicative English enabling effective collaboration within international teams.

BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE

• Experience with QNX Hypervisor or similar virtualization technologies.
• Knowledge of hardware safety features such as MPU, ECC, lockstep architectures, or comparable mechanisms.
• Experience with safety-critical software verification and validation activities.
• Understanding of automotive software development practices and functional safety concepts.
• Familiarity with MISRA compliance and safety-focused code review processes.
