Amazon Flex Risk Manager, Amazon Flex, Service Level Standards

Amazon Flex works directly with independent contractors – called delivery partners – to make deliveries to our customers. With Amazon Flex, individuals can now be their own boss delivering Amazon packages. Amazon Flex is powered by a mobile app that works in concert with our advanced logistics systems that allows delivery partners to on-board, schedule delivery times, guide them through their deliveries with in-app mapping and navigation, and more.

Amazon Flex's Service Level Standards (SLS) team is seeking a Litigation Risk Manager to join our Critical Operations function. Our team ensures that enforcement actions taken against delivery partners are fair, defensible, and well-documented — and when those decisions are contested through legal channels, we investigate thoroughly.

As a Litigation Risk Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing legal disputes arising from delivery partner enforcement actions. You'll be responsible for conducting in-depth investigations into contested offboarding decisions, developing disposition recommendations for legal proceedings, and serving as a subject matter witness when required. This role offers the opportunity to work with cross-functional teams - including legal, outside counsel, enforcement program owners, and regulatory stakeholders - while directly contributing to the protection and compliance of Amazon's last-mile delivery operations.

Key job responsibilities
- Conduct end-to-end deep-dive investigations into contested delivery partner enforcement actions, determining whether offboarding decisions adhered to established policies and procedures
- Develop and deliver well-reasoned disposition recommendations for active litigation and arbitration matters
- Serve as a subject matter witness in arbitration hearings, tribunal proceedings, and regulatory inquiries - articulating the company's enforcement rationale clearly and accurately
- Partner closely with internal legal teams and outside counsel to align on case strategy, timelines, and desired outcomes
- Monitor and manage caseload with competing priorities, jurisdictional deadlines, and strict SLAs
- Identify emerging litigation trends, recurring claim patterns, and systemic risks across jurisdictions
- Provide closed-loop feedback to enforcement program owners to proactively address root causes of disputes
- Identify opportunities for workflow efficiency improvements and contribute to process optimization
- Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure responses are accurate, comprehensive, and delivered on time

Basic Qualifications

- 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
- Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent
- Master's degree or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
