This role leads the financial architecture, cost accounting, and controllership functions for Amazon Leo's satellite manufacturing operations. The Senior Finance Manager serves as the principal finance partner to manufacturing site leadership, building financial processes, systems, and governance structures in a complex, multi-site production environment. This is an opportunity to build rather than inherit—designing the controllership framework that will scale with production ramp and site expansion.
Key job responsibilities
Controllership:
The Senior Finance Manager manages the income statement and balance sheet of the manufacturing business, monitoring and tracking, cost accruals, tangible assets, monthly close, and all items with material impact on business KPIs. The role monitors free cash flow including working capital drivers and other assets and liabilities. This leader supports adherence to Amazon's financial internal controls through regular monitoring and auditing, drives culture change in developing awareness of how internal controls impact business practices, and ensures compliance with documented financial directives including support of annual internal controls assessment campaigns.
Cost Accounting & Inventory Management:
This leader owns component-to-finished-good cost accounting across complex product structures, from raw component through final satellite assembly, integration, and testing. Responsibilities include managing production variance analysis across high-mix, volume components and standardized platforms, establishing inventory valuation methods for long-lead components, sub-assemblies, and high-value work-in-progress, and leading the financial governance of engineering change orders and their impact on material costs. The role develops and maintains engineered standards, work measurement systems, labor performance metrics, learning curve analysis, and cost estimating methodologies that drive manufacturing cost accountability from the program level down to individual work centers.
Financial Planning, Reporting & Performance Management:
This role creates and executes the Annual Operating Plans and quarterly forecasts in accordance with corporate schedules and governance. The Senior Finance Manager delivers meaningful variance analysis for monthly and quarterly business reviews, providing a coherent business narrative that drives corrective actions. The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
