We are currently hiring for a sales leadership role within State Street Investment Management's US Wealth team. Reporting into the Head of Internal and Hybrid Sales, this position is responsible for leading a team of Associate Regional Consultants across the Broker Dealer and Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) channels, driving distribution strategy, business development, and sales execution to accelerate net new asset (NNA) and net new revenue (NNR) growth. Provide leadership, coaching, and strategic direction to a team of Associate Regional Consultants while strengthening key distribution relationships, advancing State Street Investment Management's strategic priorities, and driving business growth across the Broker Dealer and RIA channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop and retain a high-performing sales team focused on driving Net New Assets (NNA) and Net New Revenue (NNR) through disciplined business development, advisor engagement, and increased product adoption across Broker Dealer and RIA channels.
- Establish and execute distribution strategies that advance State Street Investment Management's priorities and drive growth across key intermediary segments.
- Coach and mentor team members on sales execution, relationship management, investment acumen, and professional development while building a strong leadership pipeline.
- Develop and execute the team's strategy for engaging key wealth management platforms, custodians, TAMPs, and strategic partners to expand market access, strengthen distribution relationships, and drive net new asset and net new revenue growth.
- Identify evolving client needs across a range of business models and ensure the team delivers relevant market insights, investment ideas, product expertise, and sales support.
- Promote deep knowledge of State Street Investment Management solutions, including ETFs, cash strategies, model portfolios, retirement solutions, and other investment capabilities.
- Orchestrate a team-selling approach by leveraging Internal Sales, National Accounts, Marketing, Research, Product, and Client Enablement resources to deliver comprehensive client solutions.
- Establish clear sales activity standards, pipeline management disciplines, and performance metrics to drive accountability, productivity, and consistent execution.
- Ensure effective use of CRM and reporting tools to monitor sales activity, measure outcomes, and provide actionable business insights to senior leadership.
- Cultivate strong partnerships across the organization to align distribution efforts with firm-wide priorities and initiatives.
- Serve as a leader and advocate for the US Wealth team's strategic priorities across internal and external stakeholders.
- Champion a culture of risk excellence, compliance, and sales supervision while upholding the highest ethical standards in all client and internal interactions.
- Manage resources and budgets effectively to maximize return on investment and ensure efficient deployment of team activities.
- Pursue continuous improvement by enhancing leadership effectiveness, refining sales strategies, and identifying opportunities to elevate team performance and client outcomes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- SIE, Series 7, and Series 63 licenses required.
- Series 24 license required or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- CFA, CIMA, or other relevant investment industry designations preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in the investment management industry with demonstrated success in sales, business development, or distribution leadership roles preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading, developing, and motivating high-performing sales teams preferred.
- Strong investment acumen and product knowledge across ETFs, mutual funds, model portfolios, and related investment solutions.
- Proven track record of driving business growth, sales execution, and distribution results within the intermediary market.
- Strong understanding of the Broker Dealer and Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) channels.
- Exceptional leadership, coaching, and talent development skills with a commitment to building future sales leaders.
- Strong analytical, technical, and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate business insights into actionable outcomes.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence across all levels of the organization and collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners.
- High-energy, self-motivated professional with a strong sense of accountability, integrity, and commitment to excellence.
- Ability to adapt quickly, think creatively, and lead through change in a dynamic environment.
- Willingness to travel extensively (approximately 50%) to support team development and coaching, client engagements, conferences, industry events, and business development initiatives across the Broker Dealer and RIA channels.
Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid – 4 days/week in office)
Travel: Approx. 50% of time
Salary Range:
$110,000 - $207,500 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
