About Accenture's Life Sciences R&D Practice

Accenture's Life Sciences & Healthcare practice works with the world's leading pharmaceutical, biotech, medtech and healthcare organisations to reimagine how they research, develop and deliver treatments and therapies. Our R&D Clinical Domain team specialises in clinical development transformation — helping clients modernise their clinical operations, adopt digital and AI-enabled solutions, and build the organisational capabilities needed to bring innovative therapies to patients faster and more efficiently.

We operate across the full clinical development value chain — from early-phase trial design through to regulatory submission and post-marketing surveillance — and bring a unique combination of functional clinical expertise, technology implementation capability and strategic consulting experience to every engagement.

About the Role

Accenture's Life Sciences R&D practice is looking for a Consultant to join our growing Clinical Domain team in EMEA. This is a unique opportunity for someone with hands-on clinical operations experience who wants to apply that expertise in a consulting environment — working with global pharmaceutical, biotech and healthcare clients on some of the most complex and high-impact transformation programmes in the industry.

You will work alongside experienced consulting leaders and clinical subject matter experts to help clients navigate the regulatory, operational and technological challenges of modern drug development. Your work will span AI-enabled solutions across the R&D value chain and clinical data transformation programmes — helping clients modernise their clinical operations, unlock the value of their data assets, and build the organisational capabilities needed to bring innovative therapies to patients faster and more efficiently. A central part of this role is the ability to operate at the intersection of Business, Operations and Technology — translating clinical expertise into strategic and practical recommendations that resonate with stakeholders across all three dimensions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead clinical development transformation workstreams, including process redesign, gap analysis and future-state recommendations.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to Business, Technology and Operations stakeholders.

  • Design clinical solutions across data, AI, GenAI and technology-enabled R&D transformation.

  • Ensure solutions and recommendations align with GxP, GCP and regulatory requirements.

  • Develop thought leadership and support RFPs and business development activities.

  • Contribute to EMEA R&D knowledge sharing and internal initiatives.

  • Champion AI-enabled ways of working to improve delivery effectiveness.

  • Mentor and coach junior colleagues and support team development.

What We Offer:

  • Opportunity to work on major clinical transformation programmes with leading global pharmaceutical and healthcare organisations.

  • Clear career progression within Accenture’s Life Sciences R&D practice, supported by global subject matter experts and industry resources.

  • Continuous learning through AI upskilling, industry certifications and access to Accenture’s innovation platforms.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable experience in clinical operations, clinical project management or clinical trial management within Pharma, CRO or consulting.

  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end clinical trial lifecycle and clinical development processes.

  • Knowledge of GCP/ICH guidelines and GxP regulatory requirements.

  • Experience with clinical R&D systems, including clinical data, trial management, regulatory and safety platforms.

  • Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and translate complex clinical/technical topics into clear recommendations.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills; fluent English required.

Nice to Have:

  • Consulting or client-facing advisory experience.

  • Experience with RBQM, clinical data platforms or clinical process optimisation.

  • Exposure to GenAI in clinical/life sciences.

  • Experience with RFPs, proposals or business development.

  • Experience across multiple therapeutic areas and geographies.
