Senior Business Analyst - Business Analysis for Talent Acquisition

We are a team of Business Analysts that supports the Talent Acquisition organization, partnering closely with Line of Business Accountable Executives, recruiting leaders, and other analyst teams to bring in world-class talent through both our Students & Grads and Professional recruiting channels. We apply strategic thinking, advanced analytical techniques, and experimental research to optimize recruiting and selection outcomes for quality and efficiency.

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will apply your strategic and analytical skills to solve open-ended, complex questions. You will work closely with partner teams to conduct analyses, automate real-time data, and improve decision-making.

Your day-to-day might involve:

  • Developing analyses and models that help Capital One recruiters and interviewers identify great talent to source and advance

  • Collaborating with business leaders, recruiters, and Data Analysts to design and implement data products to support our Talent Acquisition processes

  • Designing new ways to measure and improve interviewer engagement and effectiveness

General Responsibilities:

  • Insights Generation: Identify business challenges and opportunities for improvement and solve for them using analysis to make data-driven strategic or tactical recommendations

  • Strategy Consultation: Partner with our clients to identify high impact opportunities to transform the candidate and associate experience, conduct analysis, and share insights that inform solutions

  • Problem Solving, from Ideation through Execution & Experimentation: Scope problems, develop hypotheses, test and analyze, drive insights, develop solutions, scope operational feasibility, lead implementation efforts and develop a monitoring plan

  • Quantitative Analysis and Insight Generation: Leverage coding languages such as SQL and Python and AI tools such as Claude Code to understand and analyze historical drivers of performance and make tailored recommendations for improvements

  • Design: Drive and build key data products, analytics solutions, and experiments for our partners, including requirements gathering, measurement strategy, attribution modeling, and automated insights

  • Business Communication: Written and oral communication to business and HR leaders, using data to tell the story and strategically influencing to drive alignment 

  • Partnership: Collaborate effectively with other team members and clients in HR and the business to drive impact

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of professional experience performing analysis

  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date:

    • A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer engineering, Software engineering, Mechanical engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field)

    • A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering

  • 1+ years of experience in SQL querying

  • 2+ years of experience in statistical analyses

  • 1+ years of experience in consulting

  • 1+ years of experience presenting to cross-functional stakeholders

  • 1+ years of experience defining business requirements

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
