As an mRNA Co-Op Analytical Sciences, you will ensure laboratory activities in support of process development and industrialization and ensure the characterizations of mRNA vaccines in development.

Main Responsibilities
Participate in the selection and development of new biophysical methods of mRNA-based products in collaboration with the scientists of the team. Qualify and transfer of analytical methods, if necessary.
Perform analytical testing in the lab, data analysis, and related document writing with a critical look at the relevance of the results. Present results internally and to analytical program partners such as Process Development and CMC.
Develop and author work plans/protocols. Summarize and communicate the progress of your work. Collate and document results in appropriate method development reports and Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) entries.
Participate in or lead analytical working groups. Accompany and train others in analytical technologies and methods.
Assist in laboratory organization activities (orders, management/maintenance of equipment, reception & verification of reagents and receipt of samples).
Support GMP and non-GMP lab set up and continuous improvement of laboratory safety and quality compliance. Perform GMP sample collection, analyses, and data verification.
Be compliant to Sanofi Quality standards and HSE policies. Participate in continuous improvement of laboratory safety and quality compliance.
About You
Basic Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a Ph.D. degree with a focus in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Engineering.
Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. and not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually require future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the Internal requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.
Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university throughout the duration of the co-op/internship.
Must be able to relocate to the office location and work 40hrs/week, Monday to Friday for the full duration of the co-op/internship.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to work full time onsite in an analytical lab environment. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team to complete assignments within defined time constraints.
GMP experience, analytical working groups participation.
Practical experience or knowledge of physicochemical (e.g., A2 measurement), biophysical (e.g., AF4-MALS, nanoFCM, nanoDSC, icIEF), and analytical techniques (e.g., UPLC/HPLC coupled with UV detection, CAD, MS; Capillary electrophoresis; SDS-PAGE; Colorimetric analyses; DLS size analyses; others)
Good knowledge of analysis equipment control software (e.g., Empower, Chromeleon, Biorad Image Lab)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to prepare and present to external audiences via publication or presentation preferred.
Essential qualities include ability to work in a fast paced, matrix environment with the agility to respond to urgent requests, and initiative to lead new tasks.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is $55.00 -$60.00 hourly. All compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience.
