About the role
Original posting provided by State Street
The Assistant Vice President, GCI, Partnership Strategy & Operations will be responsible for contributing to the strategic evolution of the implementation partnership model, managing day-to-day operations of our partnerships, and engaging directly with our partners.
What we are looking for
The GCI team is looking to hire a Partnership Strategy & Operations AVP that will be responsible for contributing to the evolution of the partnership model, managing daily operations, and engaging directly with the partners. As part of our implementation partners strategy, where we outsource a significant portion of work for GCI implementations, we are responsible for managing the day-to-day operational mechanics with all of our partners & providers. Over the past four years, we have designed and implemented an operating model to help manage the outsourced work. The partnership work has grown materially both in terms of scope and complexity, and will continue to evolve over time. We are looking for someone that can help us successfully contribute to the strategic maturity of our partnerships while maintaining strong management of the on-going operational activities for our partnerships.
Why this job is important to us
State Street Alpha brings together front-to-back data and capabilities across the investment lifecycle to help our clients make better decisions, grow at scale, and deliver returns for their clients. We partner with clients to optimize their operations, data, and technology footprint by leveraging the Alpha Platform and outsourced Alpha Services.
The GCI team is looking for qualified individuals with strong experience leading and executing Partnership Strategy & Operations programs. The successful candidate will have program management and execution skills in managing partners, leading day-to-day operational activities, and the ability to interface well with internal stakeholders and external partners. In addition, they will demonstrate strong team leadership, operational discipline, and written and verbal communication skills.
Over time, as the nature of the partnership has expanded in scope and complexity, the importance of the job and its corresponding roles and responsibilities have materially expanded in accordance with material changes to the partnership.
What you are responsible for
Contributing to evolving our partnership model and adjusting our operational activities over time to improve efficiency and effectiveness of our model.
Working with procurement and our business teams to create Statements of Work (SoW) or Orders to create the contractual vehicles and capture the scope of the work outsourced by GCI teams.
Managing these SoW & contracts in Beeline for resource onboarding and resource access management; along with appropriate review and approvals.
Invoicing & Billing associated with contracted services
Tracking partner level financial information & associated metrics vs. approved budgets and total contractual values.
Enacting governance & oversight of partner teams including the management of SLA and KPI’s of deliverables in Jira.
Managing impediments with stakeholders, driving program progress, escalating risks and issues, and recommending solutions.
Applying strong business judgment to surface implications and practical, high impact options.
Translating business challenges into actionable, structured approach for problem solving.
Effectively balancing needs and requirements of competing priorities or teams to generate strategic forward-looking outcomes rather than tactical responses.
Education and Preferred Qualifications
Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Minimum 7 years financial services experience including Strategy Transformation, Vendor Management, and strong Program Management experience
Having proven experience in areas such as process re-engineering, analysis, and executive presentation skills
Consulting background is considered a significant plus

Proven leadership and program management skills
Proven strong communication, interpersonal, decision-making and negotiation skills
Proven ability to work effectively with all levels of management
Ability to influence and work collaboratively across multiple organizations to reach common goals
Organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Adaptability and energy to excel with dynamic, evolving priorities
Creative, innovative mindset; not afraid to propose new ways to solve existing problems

Competencies required: demonstrated partnership governance, transformation experience, strong knowledge of implementations & Alpha organization, strong project management skills, analytical/problem solving skills, business/industry knowledge, communication versatility, teamwork and leadership, written and verbal skills
Strong skills in Microsoft Office and able to use advanced features of PowerPoint and Excel SharePoint, project management and reporting automation skills
