AI-Enabled Workflow Governance AI Solution Engineer

Who we are looking for

As part of State Street’s Enterprise Architecture organization, the Assistant Vice President, AI Governance Engineering reports directly to the Vice President of AI Governance Engineering. As an AI Solution Software Engineer, you will bridge the gap between advanced AI research and production-ready software. You will design, develop, and deploy AI-driven solutions that optimize technology governance reviews, assess the risk of solution designs being deployed in production, and ensure risk based decisions are appropriately auditable. This role requires a candidate who possesses strong software engineering fundamentals and a deep academic or practical foundation in Machine Learning (ML), Natural Language Processing (NLP), or Large Language Models (LLMs).

What you will be responsible for

As an AI Solution Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Software Development: Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code to integrate AI/ML models into workflow automation that assist State Street application development teams in describing the architecture of their solutions and helping reviewers assess application design quality and risk.
  • AI Solution Engineering: Collaborate with our AI engineering center of excellence in leveraging our enterprise AI frameworks, including MCP and RAG enterprise solutions, to deliver and maintain working AI-driven workflows.
  • Workflow Integration Design: Integrate our non-deterministic AI solution capabilities with our Appian-based deterministic workflow orchestration system and implement effective application design guardrails.
  • Testing & Optimization: Conduct rigorous testing, performance tuning, and optimization of AI models for speed, accuracy, and cost-efficiency.
  • Collaboration & Innovation: Partner with product managers and engineering teams across State Street to understand business needs and propose innovative AI solutions.

Salary Range:

$70,000 - $118,750 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
