Senior Business Manager - AIML Product Strategy

About Capital One:

At Capital One, we have been relentlessly innovating since Day 1. We are a nationally recognized brand and a leading tech company touching over 100 million households. Founder-led, Capital One has grown to annualized ~$75 billion in revenue in just over 20 years.

We consider ourselves the bank a technology company would build. We are the only large bank who is all-in on the cloud, and we build our own software, contributing heavily to the open-source community. We are at the frontier of AI not just in our industry, but in the world at large. Our world-class AI and ML talent (Ranted #1 in the Evident AI index for AI Talent) shapes the frontier of AI; we are in the top 5 US organizations in AI patent application volume – and our papers are routinely featured at top AI conferences (e.g., ICML, NeurIPS, etc.).

Many companies claim to be tech companies – we actually live it.

About the team & role:

The Enterprise AI and Machine Learning (AIML) team builds the AI & ML platforms that our company leverages to build all things AI. The platforms deliver the infrastructure, foundation models, and a host of reusable capabilities that enable teams to build cutting-edge AI use cases across the business servicing, marketing, credit underwriting, fraud detection, and more. Capital One is a platform company, and these platforms are the de-facto way to build with AI at Capital One.

As a Senior Business Manager on Capital One’s AIML Product Strategy team, you will apply your strategic and analytical skills to shape the destination of AI at Capital One.

You will work alongside a team of strategists and our AIML senior leadership to identify the key leverage points and define the strategy for our world-leading organization. You will solve critical business problems, and help us shape Capital One’s AI strategy, in support of our mission to be at the Frontier of AI. You will do it all as part of a highly collaborative, agile team environment - where you will unlock tremendous learning and growth.

Key focus areas:

  • Setting the destination vision for our AI & ML platforms, working alongside leaders in our AI organization and business

  • Working back from our customers and internal partners, to identify the outcomes we seek and the reusable capabilities and services we need

  • Help bring our vision to life by working with stakeholders in our lines of business and our AIML teams on “on-the-ground” problem solving

  • Shaping our strategy and the continuous delivery and improvement of our AI platform capabilities
