Overview
The Open Finance Platform Engineering team's mission is to provide cloud native tooling and application frameworks that are highly available, scalable, and a software development lifecycle (SDLC) that '’just works.’' Engineers working on this team are experts in software development and DevOps toolchain to build and continually enhance developer experience and productivity
Role

As a Software Engineer 2 at Mastercard, you are expected to carry out the following general duties:
• Help estimate and work on delivery tasks (design, dev, test, deployment, configuration, documentation) to meet the business requirements
• Automate build, operate, and run aspects of software
• Participate in code/design/process trade-off discussions within their team when required
• Understand status and risks within their primary application/service
• Work on integration of services focusing on customer journey and experience
• Assist in demos/acceptance discussions in interacting with Product owners
• Understands operational and engineering experience, actively works to improve experience and metrics
• Develop understanding of end-to-end technical architecture and dependency of systems
• Help adoption of technology standards and opinionated frameworks, and review coding, test, and automation work within the team
All About You
The ideal candidate for this position should have:
• Beginner to Intermediate skill in software architecture
• Beginner skill in automation and DevOps
• Beginner to Intermediate skill in cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
• Beginner to Intermediate skill in software development
• Beginner skill in container-based software deployment practices
• Beginner skill with Kubernetes or managed Kubernetes services
• Experience or willingness working in cross-functional and large projects with globally dispersed development resources
• Has the ability to write secure code in a common language (e.g., C, Golang, Python, Terraform, JavaScript) and familiar with secure coding standards (e.g., OWASP, CWE, SEI CERT)
• Beginner to Intermediate skills in CVE management
• Beginner skills with innovation and thought leadership
• Understands internals of operating systems (Windows, Linux) to write interoperable and performant code
• Understands and implements standard branching (e.g., Gitflow) and peer review practices
