We are looking for a visionary and execution-focused Vice President, Token Authentication Solutions to lead the development and deployment of Mastercard's suite of authentication methods enabled on tokenized transactions, such as payment passkeys and enhanced data sharing.
This leader will be responsible for managing the token authentication framework and enhancing the token authentication service that allows merchants to access secure and seamless token authentication solutions. The successful candidate will operate at the intersection of product strategy, product development, issuer and merchant partnerships, standardization and integration of emerging authentication technologies such as Digital Payment Credentials.
This leadership role requires strong business acumen, product leadership, ecosystem influence, and the ability to develop and deploy innovative products.
Role
• Lead Mastercard’s Token Authentication Solutions domain within Checkout Services, shaping the vision, strategy, and execution roadmap for authentication capabilities on tokenized transactions.
• Own the evolution of the token authentication framework and related services that enable merchants, issuers, and ecosystem partners to deliver secure, seamless, and trusted digital payment experiences.
• Drive product development and deployment of authentication methods such as payment passkeys, enhanced data sharing, and emerging capabilities aligned to Digital Payment Credentials.
• Partner across Mastercard and the broader payments ecosystem to influence issuers, merchants, processors, technology partners, wallet providers, and standards bodies.
• Balance long-term innovation with near-term business impact, scaling the deployment of authentication solutions while ensuring Mastercard continues to lead the payment industry.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the definition and execution of token authentication solutions, including business cases, investment priorities, product roadmap, and executive stakeholder alignment.
• Prioritize and scale authentication solutions such as payment passkeys, enhanced data sharing, Digital Payment Credentials, and emerging authentication methods across tokenized transactions, including card-on-file, guest checkout, and agentic commerce.
• Lead the evolution of the token authentication framework, B2B services for acceptance partners and issuers to enable the token authentication solutions, and B2C passkey service.
• Partner across product, engineering, regional, commercial, legal, and operations teams to translate strategy into requirements, analyze new use cases, develop scalable solutions, enable market adoption, and support global acceptance partners and issuers implementing our products.
• Represent Mastercard externally with customers, partners, industry bodies, and standards organizations such as FIDO and W3C.
• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing product organization with strong ownership, customer focus, technical fluency, disciplined execution, and inclusive collaboration.
All about you
• Senior product leadership experience in digital payments, authentication, identity, tokenization, or adjacent technology-led sectors.
• Strong track record of defining product strategy and translating vision into business growth, adoption, product scale, and measurable outcomes.
• Deep understanding of tokenized transactions, authentication flows, and Mastercard ecosystem.
• Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with engineering leadership to build scalable, resilient, and efficient platforms, services, and delivery models.
• Experience with digital commerce products, APIs, developer ecosystems, customer-facing solutions, and implementation models that support adoption at scale.
• Strong people leadership skills, with a record of building, developing, and retaining high-performing teams across geographies and functions.
