Summary:
As an Application Support Engineer, a typical day involves acting as a software detective by investigating and resolving issues across various components of essential business systems. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying problems, analyzing system behavior, and ensuring the smooth operation of critical applications. The position demands continuous monitoring, collaboration with different teams, and delivering timely solutions to maintain system reliability and performance in a dynamic environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Lead administration and support of enterprise storage platforms including NetApp ONTAP, NetApp AFF/FAS, HPE 3PAR, HPE Nimble, and HP MSA supporting mission-critical workloads.
Manage large-scale SAN and NAS environments including storage provisioning, NFS/CIFS shares, LUNs, volumes, aggregates, quotas, thin provisioning, deduplication, compression, and capacity forecasting.
Configure and administer advanced storage features including SnapMirror, SnapVault, snapshot management, replication, disaster recovery, storage resiliency, and business continuity solutions.
Perform storage performance tuning, bottleneck analysis, root-cause investigations, health checks, capacity reviews, storage analytics, and corrective action tracking.
Lead storage migration, consolidation, refresh, controller upgrades, firmware upgrades, lifecycle management, and datacenter transformation projects with minimal business impact.
Administer Fibre Channel SAN fabrics, Brocade and Cisco MDS switches, FC zoning, WWN mapping, host integration, MPIO, iSCSI, storage connectivity, and end-to-end troubleshooting.
Support disaster recovery planning, DR testing, failover validation, replication verification, storage recovery procedures, and storage resiliency initiatives.
Collaborate with infrastructure, virtualization, cloud, backup, network, application, and vendor teams to resolve incidents, problem records, technical escalations, and major storage events.
Mentor junior engineers, provide technical guidance during major incidents, maintain storage architecture documents, operational standards, governance records, SOPs, and compliance evidence.


Professional & Technical Skills:
Strong hands-on experience with NetApp ONTAP administration, NetApp AFF/FAS systems, NAS protocols including NFS and CIFS/SMB, SAN protocols including FC and iSCSI, and enterprise storage provisioning.
Strong experience with HPE 3PAR StoreServ, HPE Nimble, HP MSA, enterprise SAN/NAS storage, storage virtualization, thin provisioning, deduplication, compression, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
Experience with NetApp SnapMirror, SnapVault, snapshots, replication, disaster recovery planning, business continuity operations, storage migration, consolidation, DR testing, and recovery validation.
Strong knowledge of Fibre Channel, Brocade SAN switches, Cisco MDS switches, SAN fabric administration, FC zoning, WWN mapping, multipathing, iSCSI administration, and storage connectivity troubleshooting.
Working knowledge of Linux including RHEL, SUSE, Oracle Linux, Windows Server administration, VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, datastore integration, and virtual infrastructure support.
Experience with NetApp Active IQ, NetApp System Manager, HPE Infosight, HPE SSMC, storage analytics, SNMP-based monitoring, performance monitoring tools, operational reporting, and vendor escalation management.
Experience working with ITIL-based operational processes including incident management, problem management, change management, CAB participation, service requests, SLA tracking, documentation, and governance compliance.


Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 3 years of experience in Netapp Network Attached Storage (NAS) Administration.
- This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
