Job Summary
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented KYC (Know Your Customer) Analyst to join our APAC Compliance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting periodic reviews and refreshes of existing client profiles to ensure the firm's adherence to Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Financing of Terrorism (CFT), and other relevant regulatory requirements across the Asia-Pacific region.
Key Responsibilities
- Periodic Reviews: Conduct timely and accurate periodic reviews of client KYC documentation for a diverse portfolio of APAC-based clients, including corporate and institutional entities.
- Data Gathering & Verification: Collect and verify client information and documentation by leveraging internal systems, public records (e.g., company registries), and third-party databases (e.g., World-Check, LexisNexis).
- Risk Assessment: Analyze client profiles, transaction patterns, and ownership structures to assess potential risks and ensure the appropriate risk rating is applied in accordance with internal policies.
- Documentation: Ensure that all KYC records are complete, accurate, and maintained in the relevant systems, creating a clear and comprehensive audit trail.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with Relationship Managers, Sales teams, and other internal stakeholders to obtain missing documentation and clarify information regarding client profiles.
- Escalation: Identify, investigate, and escalate potential red flags, suspicious activities, and high-risk issues to senior compliance management for further review.
- Regulatory Adherence: Maintain a strong and up-to-date understanding of AML/KYC regulations in key APAC jurisdictions (e.g., Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, India).
- Process Improvement: Contribute to projects aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the KYC/AML processes.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
- Experience: 1-3 years of relevant experience in an AML, KYC, or client onboarding/due diligence role within the financial services industry.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Foundational knowledge of AML, CFT, and KYC principles and regulations.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to interpret complex information and identify potential risks.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred/Advantageous:
- APAC Experience: Direct experience working with clients or regulations in multiple APAC countries.
- Certifications: AML/KYC-related certifications (e.g., ACAMS) are a plus.
- Systems: Experience with KYC/AML software and systems.
