You are:

A SAP Release Manager is accountable for the end‑to‑end planning, governance, and operational control of all SAP environments (e.g., DEV, QA, UAT, PRE‑PROD, PROD) to ensure that projects, enhancements, testing cycles, and production operations can proceed predictably, safely, and without conflict.  The role owns the environment strategy and day‑to‑day orchestration across the SAP landscape, acting as the single point of coordination between projects, AMS, release management, Basis, testing teams, and business stakeholders.

The work:

  • Owns the overall SAP environment strategy and governance across all landscapes.
  • Defines and enforces environment usage rules, refresh policies, access standards, and naming conventions aligned with SAP and enterprise governance.
  • Ensures environments are used appropriately for their intended purpose (build, test, training, cutover, production).
  • They plan, schedule and control the build, test and deployment of releases, and to deliver new functionality required by the business while protecting the integrity of the existing services
  • Plans, schedules, and controls environment usage across:
    • Projects
    • AMS enhancements and defect fixes
    • Regression testing cycles
    • Maintenance and technical upgrades
  • Manages who is using which environment, when, proactively resolving conflicts between concurrent initiatives.  Bundling of releases, minor and major.  For example, a major monthly release may include a small project and a bundle of AMS enhancements.  The major release will then be regression tested all together as one bundle which means all components have to be ready in UAT at a certain time.
  • Maintains a single integrated environment calendar covering releases, testing windows, refreshes, freezes, and maintenance periods.
  • Ensure smooth transition from the BUILD phases to the RUN phase. They ensure that all involved stakeholders are informed of upcoming releases and that all elements required to deploy and operate the services and products are delivered, controlled and traceable resulting in improved operational efficiency.
  • Proactively manages S/4HANA system performance (monitoring CPU/memory, background jobs, SAP short dumps, etc.)
  • Implements SAP BASIS best practices (e.g. regular kernel updates, HANA tuning, job scheduling review) to improve month-end close speeds and overall system health.
  • enforce proper preventive maintenance regimes, such as monitoring SAP Notes and applying updates promptly.
  • Own Regular environment health checks and drive related enhancement initiatives
  • 3 days in office is required.

Here's what you need:

  • 10-12 years of SAP Release Management experience.
  • Basis/BTP experience is required.
  • English is required for this position as this role will regularly interact with stakeholders across Canada, US and other countries across our Global footprint where English is the common language. Due to the significant high volume of interactions with these English-speaking stakeholders, which is inherent to this position, it is not possible to reorganize the company's activities to avoid this requirement.

Bonus points:

  • English is must, French is bonus.
