Global Fleet and Products (GFP) manages Amazon's worldwide delivery fleet, spanning fleet safety, fleet experience and compliance, product and analytics, and fleet operations. As GFP's first dedicated Risk Manager, you will build and own the organization's risk management function from the ground up. You will design and stand up a centralized risk register, define the processes for identifying, scoring, and escalating risks across all GFP pillars, and drive risk burndown through direct partnership with program, product, finance, and engineering teams. This role reports operates as a horizontal function that touches every team in GFP.

Key job responsibilities
You will create and maintain a comprehensive risk register that captures technical, operational, financial, vendor, and compliance risks across GFP's portfolio, including fleet safety technology, charging infrastructure, fleet acquisition, and partner ecosystem programs. You will define a consistent risk taxonomy and scoring framework (likelihood, impact, velocity) so that every team in the org classifies risk the same way.

You will own the end-to-end risk lifecycle: intake, assessment, assignment of mitigation owners, tracking of mitigation actions, and verification of closure. You will build the reporting cadence, producing weekly and monthly risk dashboards that show aggregate risk posture, burndown velocity, overdue mitigations, and emerging risk trends. You will present these to GFP leadership, translating risk data into clear "so what" narratives that drive decisions.

You will partner with program managers, product managers, finance, legal, and engineering leads to ensure every major initiative has a living risk assessment. When a risk materializes, you will lead the response coordination, run post-incident reviews, and feed lessons learned back into the register.

You will identify systemic risk patterns across GFP and propose structural mitigations, whether that means recommending process changes, escalating resourcing gaps, or drafting contingency plans. You will also establish the tooling and automation that makes risk tracking lightweight for contributors and reliable for leadership.

Basic Qualifications

- 5+ years of program or project Management experience
