About the Role

Intel's Quantum Computing Group is seeking a talented and motivated Quantum Cryoprober Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for characterizing quantum devices using Intel's state-of-the-art quantum cryoprobers, focusing on quantum dots and spin qubits in Silicon (Si).

Your analysis and findings will play a critical role in providing valuable feedback to both the Fab Integration team to drive improved device performance, and the Quantum Measurement Lab to further advance quantum device operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Characterize quantum devices using Intel's quantum cryoprobers.

  • Conduct electrical measurements and perform detailed data collection and interpretation.

  • Provide actionable feedback to the Fab Integration team to improve device performance.

  • Collaborate with the Quantum Measurement Lab to advance quantum device operation.

  • Take ownership of tools, manage tool upgrades, and ensure optimal performance.

  • Work closely with the Quantum Group's Integration, Theory, and Qubit Measurement teams.

  • Develop and maintain coding skills to support measurement processes and data analysis.

Please note that this position requires regular onsite presence to fulfill essential job responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on electrical device measurements experience in a semiconductor setting.

  • Demonstrated understanding of hands-on electrical testing at room temperature.

  • Strong understanding of transistor and quantum dot operation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cryogenic measurements is strongly preferred.

  • Proficiency in coding in support of measurement processes (e.g., Python, MATLAB, or equivalent).

  • Prior experience working with quantum dots and spin qubits.

  • Familiarity with quantum computing principles and quantum device characterization.

  • Experience in a collaborative research or engineering environment.

  • Excellent organizational, data analysis, and communication skills.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $141,910.00-269,100.00 USD
