Job Details:

Job Description:

Intel Corporation is one of the world's leading semiconductor companies, driving innovation that shapes the future of technology. From powering the devices people use every day to enabling breakthroughs in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and advanced manufacturing, Intel is at the forefront of what's next. Our Ocotillo campus in Chandler, Arizona is one of Intel's most advanced semiconductor manufacturing sites in the United States, representing a significant investment in domestic chip production and American technological leadership. At Intel, we believe in the power of human ingenuity — and we're looking for bold, curious, and driven engineers to help us build the future.

We are seeking a talented and motivated Automated Material Handling Systems (AMHS) Software Engineer to join our team at Intel's Ocotillo campus in Chandler, Arizona. In this critical role, you will be at the heart of Fab 62's operations, designing, developing, and sustaining the software systems that power the automated movement and storage of semiconductor wafers and reticles across our world-class manufacturing facility. You will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment alongside cross-functional teams, equipment vendors, and automation partners to ensure our factory automation systems operate at the highest levels of reliability and performance. This is a unique opportunity to make a direct and meaningful impact on semiconductor manufacturing in the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, validate, debug, and sustain software solutions that support automated material handling and storage systems across the Ocotillo campus.

  • Support the integration, installation, qualification, and startup of AMHS and manufacturing equipment for Fab 62 and campus-wide operations.

  • Enable reliable automated movement and storage of semiconductor wafers and reticles throughout the OTF campus, ensuring operational continuity and production readiness.

  • Collaborate with manufacturing customers, operations teams, and project stakeholders to identify requirements and deliver effective automation solutions.

  • Partner with the AMHS Command Center and Project Management Office (PMO) to troubleshoot operational issues, manage escalations, and drive timely resolution of system events.

  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to continuously improve system reliability, performance, and maintainability.

  • Work cross-functionally with Intel Foundry Automation organizations and external suppliers to support ongoing system enhancements and operational excellence.

  • Participate in an on-call rotation supporting a 24x7 high-availability automation environment, with flexibility to adjust scheduled hours to support new factory project milestones.

As a Successful Candidate, You Will Bring:

  • Strong communication skills — skills to clearly articulate complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Collaborative mindset — thrives in cross-functional team environments and builds strong working relationships across departments and with external partners.

  • Adaptability — comfortable navigating a fast-paced, ever-evolving manufacturing environment and adjusting priorities as needed.

  • Attention to detail — meticulous in testing, validation, and documentation to ensure system accuracy and reliability.

  • Proactive problem-solving attitude — takes ownership of challenges and drives issues through to resolution with urgency and thoroughness.

  • Resilience under pressure — maintains composure and effectiveness when managing escalations or high-priority system events.

  • Curiosity and continuous learning — eager to stay current with emerging automation technologies and manufacturing best practices.

Are you ready to engineer the future of semiconductor manufacturing? Join Intel's world-class team at our Ocotillo campus in Chandler, Arizona, and play a pivotal role in powering the technology that changes the world.
