Job Description
Role Summary:
Responsible for developing, applying, and maintaining quality standards for company products. Develops and executes software test plans. Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures. Maintains documentation of test results. Analyzes test results and recommends corrective action.
All roles require digital fluency, including the ability to work with emerging technologies such as Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) to support everyday work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver against commitments by working independently with minimal oversight, focusing on individual components or constrained scope.
- Translate product and system requirements into test artifacts across multiple components to complete projects.
- Spend the majority of time on testing-related activities, including test design, architecture, and strategy.
- Create test artifacts independently for assigned applications and present them to senior team members for validation and adjustment.
- Apply testing best practices to realize identified non-functional requirements such as security, performance, scalability, availability, and usability.
- Verify test coverage and approach of peers and juniors, collect and report testing status, and escalate concerns and risks as needed.
- Conduct test case and automation reviews for peers on the same project.
- Share knowledge and provide mentorship to more junior testers within the sub-function.
- Demonstrate awareness of modularity and re-use in testing practices, proactively sharing test assets with other teams.
- Identify inefficient processes and provide innovative recommendations, highlighting opportunities for quality improvements such as test coverage, automation, and process enhancements.
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in developing and executing software test plans.
- Experience in analyzing and writing test standards and procedures.
- Experience in maintaining documentation of test results.
- Experience in analyzing test results and recommending corrective action.
- Experience in applying testing best practices to non-functional requirements.
- Experience in creating and reviewing test artifacts.
- Experience in mentoring and guiding junior testers.
- Experience in identifying and recommending process improvements.
- Experience in sharing reusable test assets across teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD).
- Experience in conducting test case and automation reviews for peers.
- Experience in proactively seeking knowledge of other domains within scope of work.
- Experience in understanding system interdependencies (e.g. upstream, downstream).
- Experience in conceptual estimation and sizing at the component level.
