Job Overview 
Data is core to Preqin’s industry offerings, and the data and research management team delivers accurate, timely and complete data enhancing the value of our award-winning offerings. The trust in our underlying content enables our clients to make key investment decisions.  Besides collecting content, the data management team collaborates extensively with our internal and external clients to improvise our offerings leveraging technology and subject matter expertise. The team understands the life cycle of data and establishes business intelligence reports seeking operational excellence.   

 

The individual is responsible for aiding in the future growth and development of the team’s internal and external services as well as assisting with the ongoing development of its team members.

  

This is achieved through operational excellence and clear day-to-day maintenance of the dataset & content, including core business-as-usual (BAU) tasks and going above and beyond to collaborate, innovate and execute on relevant ad-hoc projects to improve the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of data. 

 

Role Responsibilities 

  • Establish and nurture relationships with key industry professionals of all levels within the alternative assets to obtain valuable proprietary information and insights regarding market sentiment and investment strategies 

  • Conduct face-to-face interactions with clients, demonstrate high standard of professionalism and subject matter expertise 

  • Provide tailored research and data support to clients and internal stakeholders, helping drive engagement and retention 

  • Respond to client inquiries with precision and professionalism, offering consultative guidance on data usage and methodologies 

  • Assist in onboarding new clients by providing data walkthroughs and market insights 

  • Maintain and enhance the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of investor profiles within Preqin’s database. Perform rigorous data validation and cross-checking using public filings, regulatory disclosures, and direct communications 

  • Troubleshooting escalated data quality incidents, collaborating with regional stakeholders and/or global BUs as needed 

  • Demonstrating subject matter expert (SME) for the dataset, supporting internal and external stakeholders in gaining an understanding of internal processes concerning data management 

  • Assisting in managing day-to-day data operations with an aim to create and further operational excellence 

  • Provide support to Research Insights, Product & Marketing Groups, etc., to ensure all related publications and content are delivered according to guidelines and deadlines 

  • Supporting senior team members on research projects and getting involved in further data enhancement and development activities 

 

 Qualifications 

  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience in data/financial data services is required, preferably within alternative assets space 

  • Proven track record of engaging with institutional clients and high-level executives in finance industry  

  • Confident presenting market intelligence, managing client relationships and handling sensitive information 

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build trust, credibility, and long-term rapport with clients and industry stakeholders 

  • Proven ability to understand client needs and apply a consultative approach to deliver effective solutions 

  • Solid understanding of various investor types and key financial concepts across private markets 

  • Prior experience working in or knowledge of the alternative assets industry or prior expertise within Data Management in financial services is preferred   

  • Effective time management and prioritization skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence 

  • Intellectual curiosity, strong attention to detail, and a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems 

  • Familiarity with CRM platforms like Salesforce and Outreach. Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Excel, SQL, Alteryx, and Power BI is a plus  

  • Experience working across geographies and time zones, with a collaborative and inclusive mindset 

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment  

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Business, Economics, or a STEM discipline. Advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CAIA) are a plus
