As the Crypto business is growing at IMC, we need to ensure that our post-trade processes are as scalable and efficient as possible. Hence, we are looking for a Mid Office Associate to play an important role, assisting on day-to-day post-trade operations and gathering business requirements from various stakeholders and working with developers to improve processes.
Note that this is an onsite role in Zug, Switzerland, with very limited flexibility for working from home.
Your Core Responsibilities:
- Perform daily reconciliation of positions, trades, and cash/token balances across centralized exchanges (CeFi), decentralized protocols (DeFi), and OTC counterparties.
- Calculate and substantiate daily P&L across multiple asset types, ensuring valuation methodologies are applied consistently and correctly.
- Investigate and resolve trade breaks, valuation discrepancies, and settlement issues, identifying root causes.
- Build and maintain Python-based tools and notebooks to automate recurring reconciliation, reporting, and analysis workflows.
- Query and manage data across internal databases to support reconciliation, reporting, and ad hoc analysis.
- Synthesize complex, ambiguous situations, including breaks spanning multiple venues, counterparties, or asset types, into clear, streamlined deliverables for traders and senior management.
- Partner with technology teams to scope and prioritize enhancements to reconciliation and valuation systems, and to communicate complex operational issues in a clear, actionable way.
- Gather requirements and data from various stakeholders (Trading, Finance, Risk, Technology) to identify issues and improve Mid Office processes.
Your Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, STEM, or a related quantitative field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 3+ years of experience in trading operations, middle office, product control, or a related function; crypto/digital asset experience strongly preferred.
- Python skills, including experience with data libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy) and building automated workflows, are a plus.
- Solid understanding of databases and data structures; SQL experience required.
- Familiarity with CeFi, DeFi, and OTC market structure, including exchange APIs, on-chain data, and bilateral settlement, is a strong plus.
- Experience with P&L calculation, trade reconciliation, and valuation concepts across asset types.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high bar for data accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain issues clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
