Introduction to role:

Are you ready to turn approved designs and manuscripts into fast, accessible web experiences that reach healthcare professionals and patients worldwide! Want to see your front-end craft directly accelerate how our enterprise communicates, educates, and delivers on its mission.

This hands-on role involves assembling, testing, and optimizing pages from content in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). It covers both classic authoring in AEM 6.5 and modern Edge Delivery Services (EDS) with DA.Live document-based authoring. You’ll join a high-performing digital team that partners across the business to move quickly, think differently, and ship work that meets high standards of performance, accessibility, and brand excellence.

You will collaborate with designers, content authors, developers, and QA to bring reusable components and blocks to life, ensuring pixel-perfect execution and strong Core Web Vitals. From day one, your impact will be clear: faster time-to-publish, cleaner page structures, and consistent experiences across devices and markets.

Accountabilities:

  • Page Assembly and Authoring: Assemble, configure, and publish pages using AEM 6.5 Sites/Touch UI and EDS with DA.Live, building with approved templates, components, blocks, and content fragments while adhering to brand and design system guidelines.
  • Document-Based Authoring: Structure content in DA.Live, SharePoint, or Google Docs (tables, sections, block syntax, section metadata) to ensure reliable EDS rendering and predictable output.
  • Asset Management: Manage assets via AEM DAM, including upload, tagging, rendition selection, and improving images for efficient performance and consistency.
  • Front-End Implementation: Apply HTML5, CSS3, and vanilla JavaScript to style and decorate blocks, enable light interactivity, and ensure responsive behavior across breakpoints and browsers.
  • SEO and Metadata Management: Implement and verify metadata, SEO tags, canonical URLs, redirects, structured data, and sitemaps to improve discoverability and readiness for modern crawlers.
  • Quality Assurance and Debugging: Perform functional, visual, and adaptable QA against Figma/design specs; debug rendering issues using DevTools; validate EDS concerns such as block decoration, lazy loading, LCP/CLS issues, 404s, and publish/preview discrepancies.
  • Performance and Accessibility: Run and interpret Core Web Vitals, Lighthouse, and PageSpeed audits; remediate performance issues; verify WCAG 2.2 AA compliance through semantic markup, alt text, contrast, keyboard navigation, and appropriate ARIA usage.
  • Collaboration and Process: Partner with content, editorial, and review teams to action feedback from staging reviews; log and resolve defects in JIRA; follow preview-review-publish workflows with versioning and rollback; document reusable patterns to scale standard processes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Use Git/GitHub workflows to handle branches and pull requests; preview content via *.aem.page and *.aem.live; chip in to shared standards that shorten time-to-publish and uplift consistency across markets. How will you raise our baseline and lift Core Web Vitals in your first 90 days?

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • 3–6 years of hands-on web development / web production experience
  • Strong proficiency in HTML5 (semantic markup), CSS3 (Flexbox, Grid, media queries, custom properties), and JavaScript (ES6+) — DOM manipulation, event handling, fetch/async basics
  • Practical experience with AEM 6.5 authoring (templates, components, pages, DAM) and/or AEM Edge Delivery Services (EDS) with DA.Live or document-based authoring (SharePoint/Google Docs)
  • Understanding of the EDS block model — block structure, decoration via JS/CSS, section metadata, and the boilerplate project layout
  • Comfortable with Git/GitHub basics — branches, pull requests, previewing branch content via *.aem.page / *.aem.live
  • Proficient with Chrome DevTools for debugging layout, script, and network issues
  • Solid understanding of web performance (Core Web Vitals: LCP, CLS, INP) and image optimization
  • Solid understanding of virtual device testing tools such as BrowserStack or Sauce Labs
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA) and semantic procedures
  • Meticulous with the ability to match designs precisely (pixel-perfect assembly)
  • Good written and verbal communication; able to work with cross-functional, distributed teams

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Experience in a regulated industry (pharma, healthcare, finance) with content review workflows (e.g., MLR/PromoMats)
  • Exposure to AEM as a Cloud Service (AEMaaCS) or Universal Editor
  • Familiarity with Figma for design handoff and copy validation
  • Basic experience with analytics tagging (Adobe Analytics / Adobe Launch / GTM) and consent management (OneTrust or similar)
  • Experience with localization/translation workflows (multi-market, multi-language sites)
  • Exposure to CI/CD concepts, and automated testing basics
  • Understanding of SEO fundamentals and AI-crawler readiness (robots.txt, sitemaps, llms.txt)
