This role is ideal for an experienced builder who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and can independently drive projects through accelerated schedules, evolving requirements, and complex field conditions. The Senior Construction Manager will own construction execution from contractor procurement and mobilization through substantial completion, Certificate of Occupancy, turnover, and launch readiness.
The Senior Construction Manager will partner closely with Pre-Construction, Real Estate, Design, Launch, Operations, Procurement, Legal, and external consultants while directly managing General Contractors and vendors across multiple concurrent projects. This individual will be accountable for delivering projects safely, on schedule, within approved budgets, and to Amazon’s quality and operational standards.
Successful candidates bring deep experience in construction management, development, general contracting, architecture, engineering, or owner-side project delivery. The ideal candidate combines strong technical and field expertise with operational rigor, sound judgment, executive communication skills, and the ability to independently resolve complex construction challenges.
Key job responsibilities
- Own construction execution across a portfolio of Quick Commerce tenant improvement and conversion projects from contractor award through substantial completion, Certificate of Occupancy, turnover, and launch.
- Manage General Contractors, vendors, and consultants, ensuring performance against scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety expectations.
- Lead construction RFPs, bid leveling, contractor selection, and GMP development; present budgets, risks, and recommendations to leadership.
- Establish and manage project budgets, schedules, scopes, and critical milestones in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
- Serve as Amazon’s primary point of contact during construction, driving alignment across contractors, Design, Pre-Construction, Operations, Launch, landlords, and consultants.
- Monitor progress through site visits, OAC meetings, schedule reviews, and milestone tracking; proactively identify risks and drive mitigation and recovery plans.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, unforeseen conditions, and schedule impacts while maintaining appropriate cost and schedule controls.
- Coordinate resolution of MEP, life safety, utility, permitting, inspection, and jurisdictional issues impacting project delivery.
- Lead project closeout, commissioning, punch list completion, documentation, and operational turnover.
- Drive continuous improvement and lessons learned to reduce costs, shorten timelines, improve quality, and standardize construction execution across the portfolio.
Travel up to 60%.
A day in the life
A typical day may start with reviewing construction schedules, budgets, and critical risks across several active projects, followed by OAC meetings with General Contractors, designers, and consultants. You’ll partner throughout the day with Pre-Construction, Design, Real Estate, Procurement, Launch, and Operations teams to resolve field conditions, RFIs, change orders, permitting challenges, and upcoming milestones. Site visits provide opportunities to validate progress, quality, safety, and operational readiness firsthand. You’ll work directly with contractors to remove roadblocks and develop recovery plans when needed, ensuring projects remain on track for turnover and launch for our Operations customers.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
