Overview

​The Marketplace Product Marketing team mission is to improve the performance and scale the success of Microsoft Marketplace by increasing customer demand for cloud solutions, AI apps, and agents offered by Microsoft’s partners. We leverage go-to-market engines across marketing, our field & partner ecosystems, and innovative engineering solutions to unify cross-Microsoft efforts to shape the Marketplace product roadmap and drive execution of our Marketplace business strategy. ​  

​The Marketplace Product Marketing team is looking for a collaborative and entrepreneurial Senior Product Marketing Manager, Marketplace Category Management to help define and drive the category management strategy and execution for Microsoft Marketplace. This includes identifying, developing, and leading several marketing initiatives to create transactional opportunities and amplify Marketplace platform business growth. 
 
The individual in this role will be responsible for improving customer experience and growing our business. They will plan, coordinate, and build new web pages and merchandising opportunities across Microsoft Marketplace as well as create and analyze metrics dashboards following traffic, impressions, click-through rates, conversion, and other funnel metrics. They will report on performance and action plans along with proposing, developing, and executing new upsell and cross-sell capabilities, partnering with business and technical teams to achieve goals. They will also help drive new Marketplace capability launches to completion by coordinating with product managers, designers, researchers, developers, sales teams, and peers across the marketing organization.

Responsibilities
  • Designing the playbook and owning end-to-end responsibility for Marketplace category management.
  • Executing the merchandising plan including retargeting programs, cross-category placements, promotions, etc.
  • Tracking and analyzing customer needs based on behavior signals including searching, browsing, and purchasing.
  • Developing, testing, and analyzing new tactics to increase web store conversion rates.
  • Improve the quality and consistency of information on product detail pages to support customers in making purchasing decisions.
  • Report on marketing results, learnings, and customer needs to executives and decision makers to drive programmatic improvements.


Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field AND 3+ years experience in business 
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field AND 5+ years experience in business 
    • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or preferred qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field AND 6+ years experience in business 
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field AND 8+ years experience in business 
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience in planning, executing, measuring, and optimizing eCommerce site merchandising, with an ability to create optimal customer experiences to drive revenue & optimize the customer journey.
  • Experience in product marketing or prior experience with web technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize audience insights.
  • Cross functional leadership experience, with the ability to create clarity, align shared priorities, and influence virtual teams to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Communication skills, with the ability to simply articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences and influence at the senior leadership level.
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy, making informed decisions based on data and common principles to ensure the success of the project or team.
  • Experience in A/B testing, personalization, and site optimization​.


Product Marketing IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
