In this Strategic Account Executive for Japan Banking and Capital Markets role, you will help customers in the Japanese Banking and Capital Markets sector modernize their businesses and deepen their trust in Microsoft. You bring the ability to operate fluently in both English and Japanese, enabling you to connect with executive stakeholders, navigate complex organizations, and translate opportunities into lasting partnerships across global and local teams.
As a Strategic Account Executive for Japan Banking and Capital Markets, you will lead account planning and execution for multiple Banking and Capital Markets customers in Japan, with a focus on driving digital transformation and business outcomes. You will orchestrate extended virtual teams, industry experts, and partners to deliver solutions that align to each customer’s strategy and regulatory environment. You will also be responsible for executive engagement and account governance, ensuring Microsoft’s platform and services are positioned to help customers optimize operations, manage risk, and innovate for their clients. Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with account teams across Japan and other regions to maximize global business opportunities and drive sustainable growth.
  • Develop and oversee the execution of multi‑year account plans for multiple Japanese financial services institutions, ensuring Microsoft revenue targets and customer business needs are met.
  • Build and maintain deep relationships with senior business and technology decision makers, leading strategic technology transformation and positioning Microsoft solutions to address industry‑specific priorities and regulatory requirements.
  • Proactively develop a comprehensive understanding of each customer’s industry, business strategy, and technology landscape to identify opportunities for optimization, innovation, and new solution adoption.
  • Orchestrate extended virtual teams, internal industry experts, and partners to drive opportunity creation, solution design, and successful delivery, ensuring clear accountability and integrated joint account governance.
  • Grow sales and partner impact by engaging key partners, creating mutually beneficial go‑to‑market motions, and driving upsell and cross‑sell opportunities that increase consumption and usage of Microsoft solutions.


Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience working in an industry (e.g., financial services, retail, manufacturing, healthcare, energy, government, education, technology) and/or driving digital transformation OR Master's Degree AND 7+ years experience working in an industry (e.g., financial services, retail, manufacturing, healthcare, energy, government, education, technology) and/or driving digital transformation OR 11+ years experience in working in an industry (e.g., financial services, retail, manufacturing, healthcare, energy, government, education, technology) and/or driving digital transformation OR equivalent experience.
  •  
    4+ years experience making recommendations to and/or collaborating with mid-to-senior level executives.
  •  
    6+ years experience closing large, complex agreements/deals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 11+ years experience working in an industry (e.g., financial services, retail, manufacturing, healthcare, energy, government, education, technology) and/or driving digital transformation OR Master's Degree AND 9+ years experience working in an industry (e.g., financial services, retail, manufacturing, healthcare, energy, government, education, technology) and/or driving digital transformation OR equivalent experience.


Strategic Account Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $107,600 - $187,500 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,600 - $205,600 per year.
