Overview

We are looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager to establish and lead the data and insights strategy for Microsoft Commercial Marketplace. This role will be responsible for designing a comprehensive measurement system that enables the team to understand customer and partner behavior, evaluate the success of product investments, identify experience friction, and make informed product and business decisions.

In the Senior Technical Product Manager role, you will partner with product managers, engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to identify the signals that matter, establish trusted metric definitions, close telemetry gaps, and build scalable reporting capabilities. You will ensure that new features are designed with measurable outcomes from the beginning and that teams have timely, reliable insights into adoption, conversion, engagement, reliability, and customer impact.

This is a high-impact role with visibility to senior leadership and deep collaboration across engineering, design, strategy, operations, finance, product groups, and some of the largest software development companies in the world.

The Senior Technical Product Manager is a data-driven product leader who is intellectually curious, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and able to turn complex datasets into clear product direction. They have a point of view on product measurement, ask thoughtful questions, and know how to distinguish meaningful signals from noise.

We value people who create clarity, generate energy, and deliver success for their team. They embrace AI to accelerate analysis and uncover insights, take end-to-end ownership, and connect the dots between customer behavior, business outcomes, product experiences, and platform technology. If you love using data to build better products and want to establish the measurement foundation for a global commerce platform, this is the right role for you.

Responsibilities

  • Design an end-to-end measurement system for the Find, Try, Buy, and Manage customer and partner journeys, including acquisition, discovery, engagement, conversion, activation, retention, and product-management scenarios.
  • Build and maintain product scorecards, dashboards, funnel analyses, and recurring reports that provide timely visibility into adoption, conversion, customer friction, reliability, and business impact.
  • Evaluate and improve the quality, completeness, consistency, freshness, and reliability of Marketplace data used for product decisions and reporting.
  • Create self-service measurement capabilities that enable product teams to answer common questions while maintaining consistent definitions and governance.
  • Apply AI-assisted analytical techniques to accelerate insight generation, identify emerging patterns, and improve the efficiency of product investigations.
  • Align stakeholders on measurement priorities, metric definitions, analytical conclusions, dependencies, and tradeoffs.
  • Foster an inclusive, data-driven culture focused on customer obsession, intellectual honesty, accountability, experimentation, and continuous learning.
