State Street Investment Management is looking for a highly motivated and hands-on Technical Analyst / Senior Software to support business-critical applications and infrastructure. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical troubleshooting skills, application support experience, and the ability to collaborate with both technical and business stakeholders. This role requires proactive problem-solving, ownership mindset, and willingness to work in a Japanese business environment.

This role supports business-critical applications with a strong emphasis on technical troubleshooting, application support, automation, and stakeholder collaboration.

What You Will Be Responsible For 

 

  • Produce and maintain technical documentation to support application support and future enhancements 

  • Take ownership of assigned applications, components, or services from requirements analysis through production deployment, BAU support, and ongoing issue resolution. 

  • Design, develop, test, maintain, and support enterprise applications and backend services in accordance with established software development lifecycle (SDLC) standards. 

  • Collaborate effectively with business users, infrastructure teams, vendors, and global technology partners to resolve incidents and service requests in a timely manner. 

  • Develop and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot: 

Design, build, and support RESTful APIs 

Develop and maintain database solutions, including data modeling and SQL development 

Integrate backend services with frontend applications and third party systems 

Support service oriented and microservices based architectures 

Develop and maintain quick web based demo and service using skills: HTML/ CSS/ JavaScript/ React JS

Education & Preferred Qualifications/Skills 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field 

  • 5+ years of hands-on development, application support, or technical troubleshooting experience with at least one programming language. 

  • Hands-on experience with Windows platform support and SQL Server is strongly preferred. 

  • Experience with scripting, automation, or support tooling such as VBA, PowerShell, VBScript, Windows Batch, Microsoft Visual Studio, and SQL development is preferred. 

  • Comfortable working in a Japanese business environment, with willingness to use Japanese in daily work and learn relevant business and technical terminology. 

  • Experience with microservices or distributed systems 

  • Exposure to cloud platforms or container based deployment models 

  • Prior experience in financial services or regulated industries
