The Depositary Services Team is responsible for delivering trustee and fiduciary services in Hong Kong.
This role will support the Head of Depositary Services in strengthening the depositary service platform and fostering a strong compliance and risk culture across the business. The successful candidate will assist in the development and delivery of specialized training programs for relevant staff in collaboration with Legal, Risk, Compliance and Operations teams.

The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring State Street’s duties as Depositary are performed in accordance with applicable legal documentation (including trust deeds, prospectus and fund constitutive documents), relevant laws and regulations, and requirements of financial regulatory authorities and other applicable governing bodies.
Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities
Perform reviews as stipulated in the Depositary Services Procedure Manuals and ensure the manuals are maintained and updated on a regular basis
Review and provide comments on fund constitutive documents, offering documents, and financial statements
Review fund portfolios to ensure compliance with investment restrictions, borrowing limits and other requirements set out in constitutive documents and applicable regulations
Ensure breaches, risks issues and areas of concern are identified, reported, escalated, and rectified in a timely manner, and provide appropriate recommendations where necessary
Respond to client queries and serve as a subject matter expert for trustee and fiduciary related matters across the organization
Conduct due diligence reviews and attend on-site visits of internal and external service providers, documenting findings and recommendations
Coordinate Depositary and Fiduciary Committee meetings and Board meetings, including the preparation of meeting materials and minutes
Lead or participate in business, regulatory and operational projects as required
Coordinate interactions with external auditors, internal auditors, Compliance and Risk review teams, ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries and requests
Prepare or review regulatory fillings and submissions to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and deadlines
Promote risk awareness and support the delivery of training programs for business and operational teams
Experience/Qualifications.
University degree holder, preferably in accounting, business administration, economics, finance, law or other related disciplines
Minimum 8 years of experience in financial services, with exposure to trustee, fiduciary, depositary, fund services or regulatory oversight functions
Strong understanding of the legal, regulatory and compliance requirements applicable to trustee and fiduciary services, with direct experience supporting collective investment schemes investing in public and private markets
Type 13 Regulated Activity licensed preferred. Candidates without the license will be expected to obtain it
Strong leadership, teamwork, and people development skills
Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, influencing, and stakeholder management abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Sound analytical, problem-solving and organising skills
Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment
