Job Description
This is an outstanding opportunity to join Thermo Fisher Scientific as an Operations Manager in Shanghai. You will play a pivotal role in integrating and growing our DG business. You will also ensure flawless EHS and compliance risk management within our DG warehouse operations.
- Build and manage efficient interfaces and handover processes with each pickup site
- Develop and deliver practical SOP/WI and training programs for collaborators
- Lead a team to ensure daily operations, including goods receipt and dispatch, stock transfers, repacking, and inventory management
- Establish important metrics and scorecards to measure and improve warehouse performance
- Build a transparent 3PL warehouse cost analysis dashboard
- Optimize China's warehouse and distribution network
- Apply PPI methodology for continuous process excellence and cost-effectiveness
- Collaborate with the Sourcing team for vendor evaluation, onboarding, and management
- Introduce advanced WMS systems and digital applications to improve market competitiveness
- Maintain up-to-date expertise on DG warehouse regulations
The Successful Applicant
- Minimum 5 years of operations experience in a multinational corporation, including over one years in a managerial role, and 3 years in the dangerous chemicals industry
- Proficiency in DG classification and storage conditions
- Extensive hands-on experience with DG warehouse safety and barcode systems
- College degree in a chemical-related field
- Strong communication skills in English and Mandarin
- Proficient in MS Office, Office 365, Power BI, and ERP systems
- Strong data analysis skills, both technically and strategically
- Self-motivated great teammate with a willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities
