Job Description

As a Sr Business Systems Analyst, you will solve complex problems by engaging in identifying and addressing challenging issues by examining computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and desired outcomes. You will define systems scope and objectives based on user needs and a profound understanding of business systems and industry requirements.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent and relevant academic/vocational qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years software development experience, 4 years managing requirement gathering or equivalent.

Major Job Responsibilities:

  • Gather and write requirements and design specifications for complex, business-critical systems.
  • Plan requirements and assess the level of effort.
  • Assist in defining data interactions with other systems/databases at ThermoFisher or client companies.
  • Collaborate with developers, QA testers, validation team members, and managers to build and analyze project documentation.
  • Provide mentorship to junior staff in completing Business Systems Analyst responsibilities.
  • Assist in estimating time and resources for requirements and design initiatives.
  • Manage projects of moderate scope.
  • Stay updated with the latest technological developments and share knowledge with team members.
  • Train on new technologies and tools related to job duties.
  • Handle diverse problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Represent the department as a prime contact on projects and interact with internal and external personnel on significant matters.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of the system development life cycle and requirements methodology.
  • Proficiency in requirement gathering methodologies like waterfall, Agile, Spiral, JAD sessions, and standard methodologies.
  • Ability to write use cases and design specifications for complex systems.
  • Advanced MS Office skills.
  • Ability to estimate the level of effort.
  • Strong business skills including documentation, presentation, interpersonal, and communication.
  • Outstanding problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Advanced level interaction with relational databases.

Must Have Skills:

  • Ability to work with end-users to build test scenarios to confirm development has met the requirements.
  • Assess situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations.
  • Determine the importance, urgency, and risks of situations, and make clear, timely decisions.
  • Highly organized and diligent, able to accommodate shifting priorities.
  • Must possess positive attitude, enthusiasm, and energy.
  • Demonstrates the tenacity to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Strong work ethic and comfortable working under tight deadlines.

Good to Have Skills:

  • Strong preference for facilitation skills.
  • Experience with 21 CFR part 11 and preferred standard methodologies for SDLC.
  • Experience in healthcare and/or clinical research preferred.

Working Hours:

India: 05:30 PM to 02:30 AM IST

Philippines: 08:00 PM to 05:00 AM PST
