The Challenge and Position
At our site in Eindhoven we develop and produce high end Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEM). It takes a year to build and tested before we can ship it to our customers. Most of these microscopes are customer specific. On top of that, innovations take place in a fast pace which makes the supply chain and material availability process complex and challenging.
Position Summary:
The Purchasing Buyer role carries responsibility for purchasing materials for our production, including purchase order creation and execution across a variety of commodities. This is achieved through maintaining business relationships with key suppliers as well as key stakeholder in- and externally and ensuring timely delivery of materials which meet specifications and expectations (including quality and level of service) at the best life cycle cost.
Liaise with internal customers to establish material planning requirements towards our suppliers.
Contribute to the periodic reports/statistics on performance required by the Manager Purchasing
Open order management
Expediting Purchase Orders with suppliers.
Consolidate existing materials preferred vendors.
Ability to work under pressure, excellent written/ verbal communication skills and a high standard of accuracy.
Liaise with Finance for resolving account payable queries.
Investigate and follow through complaints with associated supplier service levels.
Prioritize delivery schedule by liaising with suppliers and in-house scheduling requirements.
The Requirements
At least 2-5 years experience in Planning/Purchasing
Strong understanding of IT systems (ERP) is required
Excellent interpersonal communication skills are required as this position works with cross functional teams and external vendors alike
Analytical, process- and result driven
Must possess excellent skills with Microsoft Office reporting, analysis and project management
A confident self-starter, working well under pressure, able to act on own initiative, share knowledge and operate as part of a team
Ability to influence individuals at all levels

This is a full-time position (40 hours). Working part-time is an option in case you’re available for at least 32 hours.
