Role Summary


As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering a variety of service activities, primarily focused on clinical markets with Microarray platforms ( Affymetrix ), PCR and qPCR Instruments. Your tasks will include installation, repair, maintenance, and validation services. Your primary goal is to ensure customer satisfaction, provide prompt on-site responses, increase first-time fixed rates, minimize repeated call rates, and contribute to overall service targets. You will follow internal rules, processes, and practices while delivering exceptional service to our customers.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all service activities in compliance with internal guidelines and customer regulations.

  • Provide adaptable telephone support, diagnostics, and on-site services to exceed customer expectations and ensure their success with Thermo Fisher Scientific instruments.

  • Actively promote our contract products.

  • Build and maintain professional relationships with customers to achieve loyalty and promptly resolve any critical issues.

  • Manage company assets, including inventory, tools, software, and vehicles.

  • Coordinate with relevant partners for service planning and scheduling.

  • Accurately and timely report all activities as required.

  • Align activities at customer sites with other parts of Thermo Fisher Scientific and share important customer information with relevant teams.

Requirements:

  • Professional background in Electronics, Molecular Biology, Engineering, or related subjects.

  • Minimum of 1-5 years of experience servicing analytical equipment or equivalent applications specialist experience.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels, functions, and regions.

  • Proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks, especially in the clinical and medical market.

  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills.

  • Proficiency in PC skills.

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:

  • Valid driving license.

  • Willingness to travel mainly within the appointed region (Comunidad de Madrid, Castilla La Mancha, Andalucía, Comunidad Valenciana - 70%) and the rest of the Iberia territory, including the Canary Islands (30%).

  • Ability to travel internationally, including all EMEA Territory and the US, for training or special calls.

  • Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
