Organization At Patheon, part of Thermo Fisher Scientific in Tilburg, we are responsible for the development and manufacturing of commercial medicines in the form of soft gel capsules.
Position within the organization Reports to: Manager Formulations, Manufacturing
Role purpose As a Production Engineer, you are the technical linchpin within the production organization. You support production departments in achieving safe, efficient, and high-quality production. You are responsible for the continuous improvement of production processes, resolving technical issues, and ensuring GMP compliance. You work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Validation, Engineering, and other support departments to implement improvements and act as a technical expert in the fields of production processes and process improvement.
Process improvement Initiating and guiding investigations into deviations, trends, and quality issues. Supporting audits and inspections. Leading Lean and Six Sigma projects. Optimizing productivity. Supporting technical transfers and the introduction of new products.
Technical support Acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME). Providing support for complex technical breakdowns. Collaborating with Maintenance and Engineering. Supporting validations and qualifications.
Project management Leading multidisciplinary projects. Monitoring schedules, budgets, and progress. Reporting to stakeholders. Operational support Supporting production with technical issues. Analyzing KPIs such as OEE, Yield, Lost Hours, and Deviations. Drafting improvement proposals.

Safety, quality and GMP
• Ensuring GMP compliance within production processes.
• Initiating and supervising investigations into deviations, trends and quality issues.
• Performing Root Cause Analyses and determining CAPAs.
• Implementing changes via Change Control.
• Identifying risks and improving processes in accordance with EH&S guidelines.
Education and experience Bachelor’s or master’s level (HBO/WO) in a technical field.
Experience within the GMP/pharmaceutical or food industry. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and GMP. Good expression of Dutch and English.
